Hello all!
Tweety, so sorry you are not feeling well. Curious if tofu is the trigger... How disappointing to cancel your plans. I hope you soon feel better.
We had a good band practice on Monday, getting the Christmas music ready.
It was supposed to rain today but so far it just looks cloudy. Perhaps it rained last night? I am scheduled to walk with S and T today, however I didn't sleep much last night and am toying with the thought of cancelling the walk and taking a nap. Dh was up early, to be out the door for jury duty. He is in a group now, and just texted he is having trouble hearing in the courtroom. We'll see how that pans out. I need to go to the grocery store today or tomorrow, and make more soup for our evening meals.
Little doggie didn't want his apple this morning and seems subdued, perhaps he is missing dh?
I have jury duty on Thursday.
That's it from here. Have a good afternoon and evening!
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Tweety. Not tolerating soy would really cut into your protein intake, I suppose.
I've given my dogs cut up apple, and they seem to enjoy it. We have some frozen sliced peaches with freezer burn that I am meting out with their kibble and it's a hit.
Another rainy day. We took a quick walk during a light sprinkle.
I have 2 Zoom meetings today, hope I can stay awake. And I need to make a donation drop off.
Tinker has been taken out to walk the periphery (or 'patrol' it?) three times already and she is still quivering like she sees something outside and needs to go out and chase it down. Maybe she needs glasses? There is nothing moving out there except every so often some leaves tumble toward the West, but they aren't cohesive enough to form a figure of any sort. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on her part. Maybe she is just fulfilling her duty as a watchdog.
I feel like this is Sunday. Huh. Nannie is being Nannie and is fighting the urge to nap.
Funny how the weeks seem to whiz on by and yet the days drag, slow and l-o-n-g.... NO, it isn't really funny, I'm just making an observation.
I am HONGRY! Gonna go zap something quick and easy in the microwave.
Tweety, I hope you're feeling better. And that soy isn't going to be a problem going forward.
Hope all is well with Joe.
dianah, it is a busy season for musicians. Jury duty doesn't help!
During the first half of 2025, we had as much rain as we normally have in a full year. Then, practically nothing. Currently 76 degrees, sunny, blue sky. Beautiful but figure we'll be paying a price at some point.
Did I tell that Twin B has lost 30 lbs? And his blood pressure is much better controlled. He has a soup recipe he wants to try tonight that involves pumpkin, cauliflower, Italian sausage, and coconut milk.
My book club is doing Friendsgiving tonight. Unfortunately, I didn't make a point of remembering the date so when I got the reminder this morning, it made me sad. I do have some pumpkin dip and gingersnaps I could take and all would be well. But I'd planned to make the soup with Twin B, and tomorrow is choir practice and Thursday night is band practice. And I should practice the flute choir pieces before Thursday since they are a bit challenging for me.
Ado, the soup recipe sounds good. You have a busy schedule!

I just remembered something we saw at Disneyland. A man approached us and asked if he could take our picture, and we said yes, so he just clicked something on his glasses! I just looked it up, and apparently there are glasses with cameras and other technological marvels in them! Send and receive texts and messages, listen to music, etc. Yah, it was only a matter of time.
There are also glasses that will translate audio to a text -- captioning, if you will -- that is then displayed on the glasses, real-time! VERY interesting! And, need I say it? VERY expensive!!
I am weary, tired, disgusted, unhappy, and mad. Guess which "Family Nannie Team " member gets to do more extra work. That's right .... me. Surprise! I guess *I* am THE TEAM, period.
SiL has to go to work early (6 AM) and then she has an appt for a blood draw in the afternoon. So, on my supposed day off, I get to get Nannie up early (7:30AM) get her dressed, and ready for BiL to take her to daycare. Then I also have to get her at the end of the day. (4:45 PM) But SiL assured me that after the eye assessment, whenever I can make the cataract surgery for, just do it and they will handle it, Riiiiiiight. Wanna bet cold hard cash that something comes up and either my appt for surgery has to be cancelled or they can't 'handle' everything Nannie needs have handled while I am post-op. NEWS for them, I am following Dr's post-op orders to the letter. SiL keeps saying BiL had two cataract surgeries so they know how the post-op goes. Yuh.
Today I spent about 4-5 hours doing laundry, (wash, dry, fold) yesterdays dishes, more laundry, and I actually cooked supper from scratch (whatever possessed me, I do not know) so there were MORE dishes. Then Nannie had an "accident" so there was that and her to clean up, and more laundry. Every single way she acts that really gets to me is how she acted this evening. And I was still stewing about being the most called upon TEAM member...
Then, (I'm sorry for this part, but y'all are nurses and humans, so it shouldn't unduly upset you:) my gut started acting up from being so very pizzed off, and after having 2 BM's, I had three episodes of very loose, watery stools. I don't believe "Go-Lite" has anything on my gut nerves when they get stirred up! Maybe I should schedule a colonoscopy and then it would be 'all good', as SiL is fond of saying.
I finally sat down and was resting in the den, looking for something I could watch on TV that wouldn't have to be explained to Nannie (that's why I skip a lot of TV shows or movies that I would really like to see).....and who should come out of her bedroom because she thought it was time to get up? Yep. The Nannie-Monster-In-Law. ARGH! And I am watching near the end of the movie The Matrix, which I have never seen before, and whats'is'name is running like the beejeebers while the Boogeymen are chasing him and shooting at him and Nannie has QUESTIONS!. I told her that what's happening is that it is time for her to get back in bed!
I wasn't going to post any of this, but I wanted to get some of it off my mind, and y'all are pretty much my only people I can squawk to.
There! Now I don't feel QUITE so pitiful, so thank you for bearing with me. I hope to become a more normal me one of these days, and SOON!
Just a simple PS: I wish my posture was as good as Keanu Reeves's.

Good afternoon. Decided to get us started today.
Joe, hope you're well and you just forgot.
I'm laying low. Last night I got real cold around 1AM ish and that's usually a sign I'm about to spike a fever. It was 98.8 at the time. Not long after that I started shivering and shaking and was 101.7. Max at 6AM when I called best friend to cancel plans for today was 102.2. Didn't hardly sleep at all. Went to the 24 CVS and got a covid/flu test and tested negative and stocked up on Tylenol. Managed to get a couple of hours of sleep and have been slowly getting better. Currently temp is 97.7 and BP 105/66, HR 75...vital signs stable. LOL
To top it off prior to going bowling I had a relapse in GI symptoms after being relatively okay for almost a week. Took an Immodium and went on the bowling and things are better today in that department. I'm now wondering if tofu/soy is a trigger food for me as I had some for dinner the night before and lunch the day off. This happened to me a week ago too. Hmm....that would be very bad news for me.
Well, now that you've heard all my physical ailments there's not much more to say. Was going to a museum today but canceled that.
