Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a good day. Glad the lab work came out good.
Dianah, glad you had a good night's sleep.
Stars, hope there's no ill effects from the vaccines. Good to have them over with I'm sure.
J22, odd the one doc would see something suspicious twice. It must have bene sometime for the others to such testing. Glad it was nothing.
Ado, being overwhelmed is not a good thing. Being busy and not bored is a good thing. Just one thing at a time.
I got notice my electric company made a mistake in my budget billing. (where I pay typically the same amount each month) and I though it was going down $5 a month but is actually going up over $50 a month. What a fool I was to think it was going down in these times.
Think I'll go vote early. Hopefully it won't be so crowded but would like to get it over with.
We didn't have a good night at bowling and won only one game. But we were bad. LOL
Have a great day.
Hello all!
I slept well. It is blustery/stormy out, which is so nice to see! We ALWAYS need the rain!
Tweety, sorry about your electric bill! Ours have been slowly creeping up too. Gotta have electricity! // We'll see what happens with next week's bowling!
Joe, good lab results! Brrrrr, temperatures look cold later in the week!
Have a good day!
Cold (30) and windy here. I tried going for a run, but only lasted 1 1/2 miles. It was too much to run into the wind gusts up to 40 mph. I also am very conscious of the trees, as they still have some leaves and there are lots of broken branches on the ground.
Joe, good news on your labs. I have needed medication to get my LDL down, along with diet and exercise.
Tweety, sorry about the bowling results. And the electric bill. Ouch. Has the price of gas gone down there? We are at the lowest for the year.
Annie, I hope you can destress and have that time with your family.
Stars, I hope your day is filled with fun and excitement! Or at least, a minimum of laundry.
I used to look forward to election night, but with predicted slow results, that excitement is subdued. At least the ads will stop!
Joe, glad the appointment went well. Hubs has had some really high triglycerides and now his PA wants him to start taking metformin. He's not excited about doing it, and his latest triglyceride level was "only" 216 or something like that, not 4xx!
Tweety, ouch on the electric bill. And on the bowling. Maybe next week the bowling will be better!
I did go out to vote when I got some lunch. Hubs had called me about 10:30 saying he was at the church that used to be our polling place and they didn't have him on the registry. I kindly pointed him to the correct polling place. Twin B did not get to vote because he left his wallet behind in Indiana (his friend is mailing it to him) so he has no identification.
You're right, Tweety. Overwhelmed is not good. All I can do is take it in steps and try not to get stressed. CMS has told us they'll be doing an unannounced visit soon to verify we're really operating a hospital at this new address. The boss put readiness for this on my plate. This particular visit shouldn't be in-depth; we just want to avoid having violations that stick out to them. That said, I've *never* been in charge of preparing for a state or JC inspection. I've been ordered around by management as a nurse, in preparation for one, but that's different.
I've been afraid to look at any election coverage. It might be better to just wait until it's all said and done.
Sneaked out early to vote; no terrible lines at the time. Now I am just letting the Network TV's election news go in through one ear and out the other. I'll pay attention once the fat lady sings, because all they're doing now is speculation over and over.
No, dianah, unfortunately today I DO get to do laundry...this time mine and hubby's clothing, and towels/wash-clothes, AND Nannie's bedding and 3 nights'-worth of wet PJ bottoms and socks. When hubby left at 2 PM for his eye exam, he told me NOT to wake Nannie up!
But I woke her up at 3 PM. Gave her a bath, greased her arms, legs, and back. Got her dressed and out to the recliner, and nuked the Subway sandwich hubby got for her earlier. So she had her breakfast/lunch at 3:30 PM. No supper for her tonight, except maybe a bowl of cereal with banana slices if she decides she wants to eat something later. It's not like she'll fade away if she goes without a meal. She could stand to lose a little weight, but I don't see it happening; When you're 93, why do you have to lose weight if you can still stand on your feet at the walker and walk to the other room and back?
So, I also went around the house and knocked down all the cobwebs. Then swept the kitchen and front hall and vac'd the stairs, the den and swept Nannie's bathroom and bedroom. Remade her bed with clean sheets, etc. Am still switching laundry loads and dryer loads and folding everything. WHEW! I told hubby he could wash the dishes, but I don't know if he has yet, or not.
Right now he is resting on his bed. I had warned him the news will have so much election reporting, it would probably irritate the beejeebers out of him. (and I did NOT say it was because I didn't want to sit watching the news with him hollering and yelling at the TV,)
I wish I could keep hold of this energy like I had today, because there are more than a few places in this house. I want to TACKLE and clean up or straighten out!
More in a little while, prolly. ~~~~
Stars sounds like a productive day. Take those when they come.
Ado, hope things go okay with the new facility and all that entails for you.
J22, hard to tell about gas because the governor, under the guise of hurricane relief but really more as a campaign stunt got rid of the gas taxes and they returned November 1st and has is about $3.50 to $3.60 and I suppose it's been worse. Seems to be holding steady and definitely lower than out west.
I voted earlier that usual and there was a line but it wasn't bad. Glad to see there were young people out but mostly it was us old folks.
Y'all got me curious. My last triglycerides were 80 but the year before they were 39. Usually they are on the low side and 80 is one of the higher readings. Last total cholesterol was 133 and prior it was 123. Next check will be in February.
I went to hot yoga this morning and meal prepped some beans and quinoa for upcoming lunches. I made some pasta using tempeh instead of meat cooking it in olive oil, onions, garlic, green peppers and Worcester sauce, soy sauce, and some Italian seasoning and spices. Added the pasta and tomato sauce and it was actually pretty good.
Having some dinner and will read and hopefully sleep tonight. My "bad week" is coming up.
Nannie didn't want any cereal or anything else; she said she was still full from her Subway sandwich. So, she took her PM pills at 9 PM and off to bed she went.
Hubby suggested I figure out what to pay myself out of Nannie's account, for all the things I did today, since we don't ever have anybody in to do the housework, etc. I don't know what the heck to charge. We (I) use her checking account if it is necessary to get groceries and meds when our account is low, and she already contributes some to loading the debit card for our suppers. Maybe I'll let her pay a month on my credit card which has a higher-than-I-like balance. I use mine (frequently enough) to buy her pads and pull-ups, if I've forgotten to bring one of her checks with me. I dunno. Ppfftt. (and I don't think he has washed the dishes yet. Well, they will be there tomorrow and he can do them then.
Good night!

Tweety that does sound like a good day
Stars a good idea, given increasing flu and Covid
NJ22 glad no change in the vision
Ado meeting with family for Thanksgiving is always nice
Dianah I hope the stretching helps
Was a fairly quiet day at work thankfully, hope that continues today
Went to the doctor after work, went quite well. Gained a few pounds, but the lab work looked good, just slightly high LDL and Tri and slightly low HDL, but otherwise good. Has been a few years since my last lab work so I wasn't sure how it would turn out and if I'd need medication
For some reason I was tired last night and had a headache, perhaps tension over the appointment. Didn't do much afterwards, watched Star Trek and texted J to wish him a good trip. Went to bed a bit early
Today have nothing really planned, except for exercise after work. Will work on knitting too
Will be in the 50's again today, then will get up to the 60s and 70s before dropping into the 30s and 40s by the end of the week
