Stars glad he has stopped drinking.  It would be nice if there was more for him to do.  Hopefully he takes to one of those ideas

Dianah glad the hip is better

Was a good day at work, fairly quiet.  Had time to renew 2 of my licenses.  Now I can look at the PA license, though they the process of getting a license there very difficult

After work I exercised, then watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.  I got the deluxe holiday specials DVD set.  Since it's not available on TV or streaming except for Apple+

Today have an online meeting with one of the political groups.  Thought about doing grocery shopping too but decided to do that on Wednesday as usual

Overall feeling better, still have a lot to think about but much less sad

Will get to the upper 60s today, will be unusually warm the next few days

Joe, glad you're feeling better and less sad.  It's a lot.

Dianah great that you get to see your children and that you have a fun weekend to look forward to.

Stars, you can't force the issue of AA or anything.  It has to come from him.  I do think he's in for some shaky times because the boredom of life will still be there, especially as he becomes chemical free.  Right now he still has a crutch in the librium. But I think you said he was going on Xanax so there is that.  Good luck.

Speaking of, this is my sobriety month.  26 years.  Crazy.  I first tried to get sober in my 20's.  I crashed and burned real hard.  I have long stopped going to AA because I don't follow it but in the early years for a long time I went.  With AA I took what I thought was a fit for me and left the rest alone. Being an introvert it took me a long time of going to meetings to meet people and establish a sober social network of friends but to me it was vital back then was the fellowship of sober people.  Having people to talk to, socialize with held me accountable and made sobriety desirable.  Without it I would have likely gone with my tendency towards self-destruction.  

Our bowling team was victorious again last night.  We've went up five places from 18th to 13th.  w00t

Going to the movies later.  Brother-in-law is coming to get his dog after that.

So last night I told hubby he had not had a drink in 4 days ? ; he hesitated and then said, "hmm." Later he said to me, "I guess you're proud you made me stop drinking." I leaned forward and made my eyes into slits and said in a low growling voice, "*I* didn't stop you from doing ANYTHING! YOU have to stop drinking for YOURSELF." Got another "hmm" from him as an answer to that.

I have been out to get my hair cut, and picked up my glasses. I'm still not totally happy with the frames I picked, but I DO see better, so I will live with them, I reckon.

Both hubby and Nannie are still in bed asleep, and it is 1:15 PM. I am not waking anybody up, though! Unless it gets on toward about 2 PM, because hubby has a 4 PM appt with his PCP, which I will be going to as well. He is out of the Librium, took the last dose last night. Not sure if the doc will prescribe a few more; hubby says it makes him feel "really weird". Ppfftt.

OK, I am going downstairs and making a cup of coffee for myself. I will come back to update y'all on what the doc says.

Hi. We gave out more candy than we ever have. I could hear lots of laughter in the dark as groups moved up and down the street. It was nice to hear people enjoying themselves. 
Very nice OCD coworker is supposed to be off today, but she working on a presentation for a provider office. And she is taking an infectious disease course, all while sighing, and oh dear-ing, and fussing that nothing is going the way she planned. I just did my HIPAA training with my earbuds jammed in my ears to shut her out. 
I hope the visit for Mr . NoStars goes well. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he is still drinking, but that is, of course, his choice.

Yeah, I'm sort of half expecting for the drinking to resume at some point within the next week, if not sooner.

No Stars, I hope your dh continues sober!  Waiting for the next update!

We contracted with some men to clean the little backyard of its weeds.  Once or twice a year this gets done.  It is mainly dirt.  We never go back there.  I *wish* I was a garden-minded person, would love to grow veggies out back and flowers in the little front plot.  But I am not a green-thumbed person.  Anyway, that got done today.  I dropped off some extra canned cat fud to the local animal shelter, then mailed a package, then went to the grocery store.  The grocery shopping took longer than usual, for I met not one, but TWO friends, and had to gab with each one!  When I got home, I put the groceries away and fixed a lunch and watched a PBS program about the fall of the Roman empire.  Then joined dh for the afternoon online Jamkazam jam. 

I didn't sleep well last night, couldn't fall asleep, so am running short today.  Bed will feel good tonight!

Tweety, congratulations, you and the team, for last night's bowling wins!!

Joe, we have our "favorite" movies on DVD too, just so we can watch 'em when we want.  ?

We thought we were going to have a really easy move tomorrow morning. There were 0 patients in med/surg. But just before I left about 6:30 there was an admission. That lucky individual gets an ambulance ride to the new hospital about 0600. I was thinking about going back this evening but I'm planning to be there at 0500 and Hubs thought we should go ahead and celebrate my birthday since who knows what tomorrow will be like. We had food from a local Mexican restaurant and there is cheesecake for later after we've digested our meals a little. Hubs gave me luggage (I had asked for new luggage after my Boston trip, given that this job has some travel requirements). He also gave me a bottle of Tailgate cinnamon apple moonshine from the Dan Patrick show. 1 of only 500, he says. Is one really meant to drink that? I mean, what other purpose would it serve?

Happy Birthday Ado!  (not too many ppl get a new hospital for their birthday ? )

What color is the luggage?  Nice!!

I found a recipe for chocolate pudding, and made it:

1 pitted avocado

1/2 cup milk (any kind will do)

1 Tablespoon Honey or maple syrup or stevia

2 Tablespoons Greek yogurt

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa

1/4 tsp salt.

Place all in blender and whiz till smooth. 

Dh added more maple syrup (3 more Tablespoons), advised to decrease the salt.  I thought it was an interesting recipe (and I love chocolate pudding).  It did taste good, and was very easy.

diana, I know, right? A brand new hospital!

The luggage is red. Hubs knows I like red (Sooner girl) so he was being thoughtful. I *might* have chosen another color, but it looks nice.

The pudding sounds interesting. Might have to try it. I have such a sweet tooth.
