Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a normal day.
I have a small tortilla press that was cheap.
I couldn't make it past 7:30 after cleaning the bathrooms before I had to get some more sleep. Five hours just wasn't enough. I think staying up late because of the time change and sleeping late has thrown me off. I'll have no choice but to adjust tomorrow when I go to work. LOL
Bad thing is I slept threw the time I needed to get to yoga. Oh well.
Still want to mop and meal prep. Going to best friends for a visit later.
Have a good day.
I had to look up arepas and they do look tasty.
My sleep hygiene is equally terrible. I know what I need to do and I don't do it. (cut off screen time by 10 p.m. at latest, for example -- but the Washington Post crossword drops at 11!). Lately I've been waking up around 3-4, too, and usually reach for the phone. But I'm putting a lot of effort into eating better and trying to move more, and there's only so much good-habit-forming I can tolerate at one time. That's my story.
Did a preliminary run through the taxes and will owe to federal and get some back from the state, netting a slight positive.
It's cold (36) and dark/cloudy. Tomorrow and Thursday should be up to mid-60s but then thunderstorms and back to the 40s-50s. Flying to Phoenix on Monday to meet with the risk management group. Hubs will drive out and we will drive back together and go to Flagstaff so we can see the Grand Canyon. It could be quite cool in Flagstaff since it's only March and it's at a higher elevation. Have made plans to get together with my college besties while out there.
My kids are big fans of Everything Everywhere All at Once so were pleased it did so well at the Oscars. I'm notorious for falling asleep in movies and I'm not sure I fell asleep in this one but I did have a hard time understanding what was going on (which might have been the point, I don't know) but when I express this, the guys look at me with pity in their eyes and say "I know". I guess I really am old. ?
Well, there are a lot of movies I'd like to see, and "Everywhere, etc." is one of them, but there are a number of movies I know that hubby wouldn't care for. I'm just biding my time. I don't think I've been in a movie theater for, um, well a large number of years; since waaaay before Covid. I think when the price of theaters went up is when I stopped going. *sigh* I remember $1 matinees, so I'm old, too.
I hate the description "sleep hygiene". All I can think of is rinsing the brain through the ears with something made for douching. ? Blick-ick!
Pretty sure my last visit to a movie theater was November 2021 when we were visiting stepson. Hubs and I were meeting friends at the theater to see something and I slipped and fell while leaving the house, later learned I had a radial head fracture, but Hubs was more worried about us being late for the movie. I asked for a bag of ice from the concession stand and held that on my arm throughout the movie. Our friend had some Advil.
That is probably the only time Hubs has been in a theater since before the pandemic but we already were not going as frequently as we used to. I've been a couple of times with the boys (they really like Japanese animation). They will also go see the Marvel movies when they're new.
We used to go to theatre movies about once a month. Lately, there hasn't been much we care to spend $12.00 on to see. And that is with the senior discount.
I experienced a radial head fracture once, whilst ice skating. I didn't realize how bad it was. I splinted it with my skate guards and a towel, and then had 12 year old daughter shift for me to drive home. We left for a weekend in Seattle the next morning and had tickets for the Phantom of the Opera. I got a splint at Walgreens and kept icing it all weekend. Finally after 2 weeks of pain I got an X-ray that showed 4 healing cracks.
Very nice weather today, and a much nicer run. Dh and I went shopping at Costco and had Costco dogs for lunch and picked up one of their chicken alfredo meals for dinner. I need to read one more chapter and take one more quiz for class. Tomorrow I will start working with plants, potting them for the plant sale.
I started taking magnesium at night to help with sleep and I'm not sure it does much. I'm going to finish the bottle and stop. I am trying to cut down on how many pills I take. I read that fish oil may increase risk for A fib so I quit that too. If I ate a healthier diet, I'd quit vitamins, but I like chips too much, LOL.
Hello all.
It's been raining most of the day, a gentle rain, not a pounding one. I got up early (for me): 0730, and drove the car to the dealership for its service. I walked over to a nearby Coco's for breaky, took a phone call while I was there. Car was ready by the time I was done eating. Then I drove to Target and got some new earbuds. The TOZOs I was using, though recommended by oldest ds, seemed to always be dropping out of my ear. I changed the end pads to different sizes, and that didn't help. So I got some of the Skull Candy ones, that were on sale. So far these are working well. I told myself, it's OK to get them, it's my birthday! (and it is! Thanks for the greetings!)
Spent some time on the phone with two friends of my sister. They offered to find others my sis knew, who would organize a service for her. That will be a load off me, as, living 500 miles away, I have no idea who knew her, but I know she knew a lot of ppl in her small community, having been a bookkeeper for many years for the area businesses (mostly farmers/ranchers). I will likely go up for the service. It's still hard to believe she is gone.
Tomorrow I have a dental cleaning. Thursday in the afternoon we will meet with fiddler and drive up to the high desert to practice with bassist, at his studio. Saturday we will do a program for the church service at one of the high desert churches.
We were going to go to Disneyland today, but I cancelled the reservation because it was supposed to rain there. As we go for the musicians, and they don't come out when it's raining, it wouldn't really be something we would enjoy. We are scheduled to go on Dapper Day, April 16. Sometime in April we will also go to the Ren Faire, with oldest ds.
I heard from both ds's today, for my birthday. ? Made my day. Also heard from other friends, which was very special as well!
Have a good evening!

Tweety I don't think I've ever made corn tortillas
Stars that's good that you're getting a variety of birds there
NJ22 we've had similar weather here lately
Odd that Mondays seem to be my down days, as yesterday was again. Will have to talk to the counselor about that
Work was not bad, despite having to be on the phone with IT for a while to get my voicemail issues resolved. Some last minute stuff kept me working right up until 5
After work went to the grocery store. Had gotten whole wheat pitas to go with the shakshuka but found I really prefer the regular ones. Exercised despite feeling a bit tired and achy
Today hopefully should be a fairly normal day. Want to do some research and see what kinds of sporting activities are available in my area. Also have to look at vets in my area, something I've long delayed
Another fairly chilly day here in the mid 30s
