Good morning!
Not the best of night's sleep. Woke up starting around 3AM and slept off and on. Waffles seems to be herself. No more episodes.
Not much going on today. They switched up the yoga schedule and will go this afternoon for the 90 minute class, although there is a 60 minute class at 11:00 that I can go to but would rather do the longer version. Otherwise will mop and maybe watch a movie.
Have a great day.
Did not sleep well last night. I HURT in my lower back, my left lateral hip and knee, and just could not find any comfortable position. I got up at 8 AM, made myself a cup of coffee, then took my meds. But, alas, the meds did nothing for my pains because I believe they merely lodged in my esophagus .....because I laid down right after I swallowed them. So, then woke up with the awfullest heartburn. Yogurt didn't help soothe it. I tried and tried to go back to sleep. I was tired from hurting and not getting good rest!
Moving around was a ***, too. At 1 PM, I decided I'd better get Nannie up. so I did, and this time it was ME grunting and groaning. I am not in the most pleasant of moods, and Nannie kept asking me what was wrong and did I not feel good? I only had to tell her half a dozen, plus, times in 20 minutes. Then BiL came over to mow the lawn, and she could not figure out who that man was out in her yard, and gave me a very blank look when I said it was her SON, on the riding mower, cutting the grass. And that continued every single time he passed back or forth by the back door: "Who is that?" and "What is that man doing?" OY!
Nannie has finally dozed off, thank goodness, because I have NO patience for her today.
I am taking it easy because I can't take any more meds for a while yet. I found a few capsaicin patches and slapped them into place, but there is no "Ahhhhh!" feeling from relief as there ordinarily is.
It is hot and muggy outside and quite cold down here in the den. I need to go get a sweater! Then it will be back to the puzzle books to distract my mind from how crappy I feel.
So sorry, No Stars! I hope Nannie goes to bed soon, and you can get a better night's sleep/rest than last night.
93 degrees here, when I drove to the grocery store! I made the (bad) choice to wear blue jeans, and were they HOT! As in, temperature hot! Linen pants or capris next time, please (note to self)!
Have a good evening!
Sounds rough, Stars. The steroids are definitely out of your system, huh?
dianah, I keep looking at linen pants when I "shop" online but I shudder at the thought of the ironing!
Tried to sit through a BLS renewal class today but got called away because someone showed up for therapeutic phlebotomy and the nurse who usually does it was home with a sick kiddo. And we had an outpatient transfusion. And then another phlebotomy. That bloodletting is becoming a big deal as more men do testosterone supplements, I guess. Hematocrits of nearly 60.
So it felt like a long day but I didn't chip away much at my stack of stuff to be done.
Hi all! It was a quiet day. dh was away at full-filling some plant clinic hours that he needs to earn his master gardener certificate. People can drop in or email with questions about gardening, and the volunteers try to help. I went to PT, only 3 more visits left. The PT clinic was quite chaotic today, many patients and one young mom who had a 2 yo and 3 yo with her, who were running about. I almost left a little early. I know as a mom it's not easy to get an hour of childcare in the middle of the day, but I was dodging little ones, afraid I might injure one.
When I came home I pulled some weeds, did a little watering. I have a haircut scheduled for tomorrow, and I think I will get a bunch chopped off. It's too long and heavy to pull up and off my neck, now that it's finally warm.
Stars, I am sorry that you are having so much pain. I have a song for Nannie, sung to the tune of Nowhere Man by the Beatles : He's a real lawnmower man, cutting grass like no one can, making the yard look nice for everyone. You're welcome for the ear worm.
Joe, we've looked into installing solar, but it would take longer than we will likely be in our house to realize any benefit. There are lots of them around here, especially on new construction.
Annie, I had not heard that about testosterone supplementation. I used to donate blood, before I started taking Eliquis. It left me with scarred up antecubital fossae, that hurt like the devil to get poked.
Oof, Dianah, that is definitely too hot for full length jeans. I've been living in my khaki Old Navy shorts, for 80 degree days.
dh is cooking chicken and veggie skewers of dinner, smells yummy.

NJ22 seems like a good plan, slowly build to the 5K
Tweety I'll be doing that Saturday as well
Hi Dianah and Stars
Ado it sounds like it has been busy for you
Yesterday was fairly slow at work, which was good, although there was a flurry of things to do at the end of the day
After work was pretty quiet too. Ran an errand, exercised, and signed up for a community solar program
Today have grocery shopping and exercise after work but otherwise it should be a pretty ordinary Tuesday
Will be about 80 today, a little warmer than yesterday
