Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a good day and night out. Time does seem to fly on a day off.
Stars, perfectly understandable to get irritated.
J22, multi-drug resistant TB sounds scary. Don't want that to spread around the community for sure.
I had a nice day off yesterday. I made a really good vegan Pad Thai with some brown rice pad Thai noodles I've had forever.
I'll probably get a new upgraded phone today or tomorrow. I'll just pay a monthly payment for it rather than upfront cash. Smart phones are so expensive. The one I have now is good except it keeps saying "No Service. No SIM card". I have to reboot it a lot. But since I'm getting a new one, I'm going with a slightly larger size. I watch movies on it at the gym or when I travel so a bigger one would be nice, but not too big.
Have a great day.
We returned Sunday from two weeks' camping in the local mountains. We were 45 min from home, and took the car up with us as well as the RV. We woke when we wanted, and had a leisurely morning, eating outside, watching the meadow and the trees, and the blue sky. Each day we fed the local wildlife raw walnut pieces (ground squirrels, chipmunks, blue jays, juncos). I read a couple books on Kindle while we were gone. The first week we drove 20 min to Big Bear City, and went to their little zoo, and did a little grocery shopping. I walked daily, all four campground "loops," took me about 40 min. It wasn't steep hills and deep valleys but was enough up and down, that I felt it.
dh's tooth still bothered him, so Wednesday he phoned our dentist, who fit him in that afternoon, to be seen. We drove down, I dropped him off at the dentist's office, and I visited the cats and watched a movie at home. They ended up extracting the tooth, and then we drove back up to the campground. That seems to have taken care of the problem! He did so much better after that!
Friends arrived one week after we did, on that next Sunday. We jammed and visited and enjoyed them! One of the men was bothered by the altitude (~6500ft) - COPD - so he was limited in what he could do. His wife came down with something the last two days, too, and stayed in bed. ?
We went out to lunch (local diner, The Oaks) with the other couple and brought home a Fruit of the Forest pie, which we all shared.
Wednesday was a thunderstorm, with rain and HAIL!! There were rivers running through the campground! It was quite exciting, and the air smelled so good afterwards! The next day the skies were beautiful, with left-over clouds floating by.
Friends left on Thursday, and we finished out our scheduled stay, leaving on Sunday. It was a peaceful time spent, and we actually booked a week up there in September, too! Why not?? ?

Work is work. I was able to peek at the hearing for a few minutes, plan to watch later at home. The weather has cooled off to the 60s and we may get rain. Im going to try to run after work; it’s just been too hot since Sunday. I made a nice lemon-y spaghetti with zucchini for dinner last night.
Lovely pictures Dianah. I agree, the smell of Is intoxicating.
Enjoy your new phone Tweety. I have a love/hate relationship with mine.
Chinese food sounds good.
Good Afternoon~
dianah, Those pictures made my mouth water with envy (if that's possible!) I would love to lounge among the trees and soak in the scents. Aaahhhhhh!
Tweety, Enjoy your new phone!
Joe, We have come down from the 90's into the mid-80's, too, and it isn't as humid. Such a relief, and with a breeze, too! I know it's going to get hotter again soon, but that's life!
Welp, I am TUM PLUCKERED! I swept the front porch and its stairs and part of the walkway. I vac'd the kitchen and front hall, the stairs going up and that upstairs hall. Didn't get into vac'ing our rooms up there, though, as I decided I needed a break. I was dripping sweat in my eyes, and the chin-length of my hair is great EXCEPT when I bend over and the ends of it swing right into my eyes. Sweat and hair in your eyes, no fun! One more thing to tend to before I quit for the day altogether: Nannie's bathroom floor needs sweeping because the cotton fibers from her pull-ups and pads, AND skin cells, AND dandruff actually make the floor feel slippery. It is ICKY! Last thing we need is her going in there in the middle of the night in her socks and slip *ssszzzwwooooop* in a fall onto the floor.
Hubby is going out to get supper, but I don't feel like eating from where he is going (The Smokehouse for a BBQ plate). I am going to pull one of those Healthy Choice meals out of the freezer and zap it in the microwave, I know the frozen meals often are loaded with salt, but I am sooooo tired of burgers and french fries, I'm not fond of the BBQ place. The other fast-food places he favors, well, those 'menus' are getting old, y'know? There's just not a heck of a lot of choices, and I say NO to driving in toward The Big City's wider restaurant options, because it is a pain due to traffic and road repairs. I long for some ethnic foods; maybe one day I will travel out to the BIG mall and visit the HFS to pick up some pre-prepared healthier and um, ethnic-ier (!) foods. I'm still not yet interested in cooking something myself, but maybe one day....
See yez laydah!
Dianah, sounds like retired life is treating you well. Great pictures! When I was Peru a few people I was on tour with got sick from the altitude. I live a 11 ft above sea level so it affected me. I would get winded climbing steps but otherwise handled it. I got food poisoning instead of altitude sickness.
Stars, the good thing about cooking for myself is one dish makes several meals.
Before I left to get a new phone I checked the website of the store and it said "in stock" for the phone I wanted and it wasn't in stock when I got there, so I ordered it. Last time I ordered a phone to be delivered it never came and I had to deal with "The computers says you got the phone". I financed it and will be paying monthly payments. My grandparents are rolling over in their graves watching me finance a telephone because it's that expensive.
Love the pictures, dianah, and your outing sounds heavenly.
We had another nice day in the 80s with low humidity. Trying to enjoy it while I can. Twins A and B are responsible for dinner tonight. They have the appetites and desire to cook of teenaged boys so we're having hot dogs and mac and cheese. Maybe I'll eat mine outside.
Twin A has a week off and said he'd clean out my car, which he drives. Not done yet. He wants to take a mini-vacay by himself. (So do I! Ha! Better yet, I'd like for everyone else to go away for a few days and leave me at home)
Gma just muttered to herself that she needed to go to the bathroom so I reminded her where it is. Again. She came back and asked (as she always does) if she could come back in here and sit down. *sigh*.
Nannie said, pointing at the TV:
"It's, they are, a lot of people are upset, uh, uh, because they are, you know, putting their older things, uh, you know, people on there, you know, and a lot of people don't like that."
I said "Oh. Huh."
?---------------?-----------------?
On TV, there was an ad for Rooms To Go, followed by one for Queen City mattresses. I can make no connection between what she tried to tell me, and what was on the TV, but she seemed satisfied she had communicated what she intended to.

Tweety things seem to be getting back to normal around here too
NJ22 I have heard other areas of the world have serious issues with TB
Ado J has been having allergy problems lately too
Stars it's understandable why you'd be irritable
Was a fairly quiet day for me. Went out bird watching in the morning, this time saw lots of birds. Didn't really do much else the rest of the day, except order take out and listen to music. Was surprised at how quickly the day went by. Did spend some time driving around the old neighborhood and thinking how things could have been different growing up. But I guess the past is past and we can't do anything to change that
Hoping work won't be too bad today. Have dinner with the church group tonight, going to a Chinese place
Going to be in the 80s the next few days, a break from the 90s we have been having
