Tweety when I book aggravates me I usually decide to give up on it

Stars I don't like clothes shopping either

NJ22 glad you're able to still do some gardening despite the injury

Ado I hope the trial is done sooner than expected

Yesterday started out quiet, then got a bunch of stuff to review, a new file, and some computer problems.  And suddenly it was not quiet.  Thought I might end up staying late but thankfully didn't have to

After work ran an errand or two and then exercised.  At least the evening was quiet.  Talked with dad, he got the time for the TEE tomorrow, will have to leave pretty early to take him there, then return home and work a bit before picking him up again

My schedule today looks busier than I had thought, hopefully it will be calmer than yesterday.  Grocery shopping today, also going to get a new tube and some repair tools for the bike as I have a flat

Going to be pretty hot again today, up to almost 90.  Hopefully I can keep the AC off as it'll cool down quite a bit tomorrow

Good morning!

Joe, nice of you to be there for your father on a work day and that your work day is flexible.

I was so close to the end of the book I stayed with it also skimmed probably 20 pages just to get through because the writer was taking so long to get to his point.  I pulled a book off my shelf that was new when I got it but was published in 2016.  Back then I would buy books in bulk with gift certificates or when there was a sale and I stacked up a whole bunch of books that sat unread for years.  This one is a mystery and 30 pages in it, looks like a good read.

I've been productive today in that I got up about 5:45 and have cleaned the bathrooms, swept and mopped, and cooked some beans in the pressure cooker and some quinoa for a chili dish I'll make for lunches in the coming days.  Yesterday I thawed out some chili for lunch that I had frozen and it wound up being spaghetti sauce so I made spaghetti. Got to be flexible.  LOL

Have routine air conditioning inspection this afternoon.  The yoga studio that closed downed their other studio changed their schedule and the 9:00 hot yoga class was switched for something else on Tuesdays, a class I don't like.  But they added a hot class at 4:30 which I hope to make if the air conditioner guy comes early in his 2-4 window.

Such an exciting life.  I'm not complaining because it seems there isn't much drama in my life right now to complain about.

Have a great day.

You prolly will grumble at me for this, but...it IS the 3rd of June ("another sleepy, dusty delta day") and it IS the day that "Billy Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge."  Ever since I found out a former co-worker had his birthday on the 3rd of June (and that was YEARS ago!) I haven't been able to shake that song when the calendar arrives on this date! Sorry!

I am also sorry that it is nearly time to raise Nannie from her bed and get her dressed. Oh well!

It being Toozdaie, it also means there is no Senior Center for Nannie today. Maybe she will sleep? Dunno what I will do except more laundry. And I know that "The story of my life, begins and ends with you.....(r) laundry" (Neil Diamond) It seems to be a song-related day all around!

Still itchy around my ears, neck and collar-bones, I scratch something fierce during the night, so I have little scabby areas where I was bearing down on particularly itchy spots on my outer ears. It's kinda not a good look, if you ask me! But at least my hair hangs down over them (Every night when you're sleeping, poison ivy comes a'creepin' arou-ou-ou-ound" ....'Cept it's not poison ivy)), so it is not visible for the most part. I may have to put some fat, cushy mittens on my hands at night to prevent that, like they used to do at the hospital when some lil ol' person wanted to scratch and/or yank at dressings or tubing.....

Got to go do the Nannie routine now, can't put it off any longer.

"Okay, now put your spoon down on the tray"> (looks around) >"your SPOON; in your hand, no, your OTHER hand, your RIGHT hand" >(looks all around but not at the hand holding the spoon). "You don't need the spoon to drink your juice"> (looks around some more.... Looks EVERYWHERE around herself....., as if she is not HOLDING the spoon in her right hand.) Looks at me with her eyebrows raised.

I finally got up and took the spoon out of her hand.

GADS! Might as well not give any simple directions any more. *sigh*

Hope your day wasn't too hectic, Joe.

They sent us home early from the trial today because there were storms predicted that could get bad (but not tornadic). Hubs and Twin A are taking shelter near Del City from a possible tornado. Hubs is not sure he can get the Jeep home tonight so I might have to go get them. Meanwhile, it is granddaughter's graduation day.

Today is Recovery Day (and my Cooking Day).

Sunday we drove two hours, arrived two hours before the wedding ceremony, met a bunch of ppl (27 attended), enjoyed the views of the wetlands and the ocean beyond, did our music, then drove home.

Yesterday we dressed dapper and walked 10K steps at the Disneyland parks.  It was ALMOST too warm, but we had a nice breeze and stopped now and then to sit in the shade.  Heard our three fave bands, plus the Dapper Dans.  Had a nice supper at the Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel, which turned out to be (news to us) a Character Dining experience.  So, yeah, I got my picture taken with Goofy, LOL (no, not dh -- the "real" [employee-in-costume] Goofy!!)!

Needless to say, I slept well Sunday and Monday nights.  Today I am making soup and I made some crackers, and am baking six eggs, to their hard-boiled state.  I tried this a few weeks ago, and the eggs peeled SO much better than when they were boiled.  I need a few things from the grocery store, I may pop over there once I remove the eggs from the oven and plunge them into an ice bath.  While the oven is warm I will put a pie tin with chopped parsley, to dry overnight.

Tomorrow my friend S and I will make strawberry-rhubarb pies, at her place.  Woo-hoo!  I have never used rhubarb before, this will be interesting (and we can gab, too)!

This afternoon, JUST as I started chopping ingredients for the soup, a storm rolled in, with much lightning and thunder, and the power was out for about 30 min.  My stove is gas, but I didn't have to test my match-throwing abilities, to light the burner, as the power came back on and the piezo then worked. 🙂

That's it for here!  Have a good evening!

Stars, I thought of that song on the 3rd of June, too !   Did you ever wonder,  WHAT were they throwing off the bridge ?   I saw a movie years ago called " Ode to Billy Joe "  with cutie - pie Robby Benson, but it was disturbing.

Oh yeah, I forgot that line...."The day Billy Joe threw something off the Tallahatchie Bridge."

One of my friends said they thought it was a baby, but I said NO, it wouldn't be, especially back in those days! It wouldn't have been a popular song if that was the subject!  I guess it was meant to be a mystery, and....it still is! (I never saw the movie, though.)

I believe it was " Brother Taylor"  stopped by and said he thought he saw a girl that " looked a lot like you"  and that she and Billy Joe were throwing something off the bridge.   I always wondered about that !
