Tweety glad the bookcases got done

NJ22 that's cool they've been doing that for 128 years

Ado that sounds like an interesting  book

Stars hope you got your errands done before the rain

Work was good yesterday, had time to do laundry and still had some time at the end of the day.  Hoping today will be similar

After work went to the doctor, as expected I had gained some more weight, about 7or 8 lb.  So when I did my grocery shopping after the appointment I stopped at Target to get a new scale.  Would prefer not to do daily weights but I think it's going to prove necessary going foward

Today have dinner out with the church group, other than that a pretty normal day

Cat seems to be having issues with vomiting again, so I'm going to keep track for a few weeks.  That way if I decide a vet appointment is needed I can provide him with the data.

Going to be a pretty warm day today, up to the lower 90s.  Will rain again late tonight

Good morning!

I gained five pounds between office visits myself Joe, so don't feel bad.  Daily weights are frustrating and I don't do that, but having a good scale to weigh often is helpful.

Just a normal day off here.  Trying to decide if I want to go to the shortened 1 hour yoga class or the 1.5 hour class I like but that is at 4:30 which is late and a lot of rush hour.  Otherwise will cook and clean.

Have a great day.

Joe, when I worked in manufacturing and we were being taught the principles of statistical process control, one of the engineering upper-level managers bragged about controlling his weight with process control. Daily weights at the same time every day and he'd start watching his diet when he went out of tolerance. LOL. Of course my mother (to ..um.. encourage me?) would tell me about my petite cousin who would go on a diet when she got over 105 lbs. I haven't seen 105 lbs since I was 11 or 12 (and a good 5 inches shorter). I weighed 125 when I got married and that was quite thin.

🥱 my flight was at 7 am. We left the house shortly after 4. Now I'm sitting at the gate in NYC for the next flight that is 3 hours from now.

Woke up at 9:45 AM to the doorbell ringing. Got my robe on and went to the door. It was a middle-aged well-dressed couple, and to tell you the truth I had NO idea of what they were saying to me, and I guess I looked unaware and as puzzled as I felt. I just shook my head "no" and closed the door and went back to bed. I tried to tell myself I should stay up, but I didn't listen to myself.

Got Nannie up just before 1 PM, she was sleeping like a log and I had to say her name progressively louder before she moved her head and said "Huh?" After I got her cleaned up and dressed, she had her breakfast. She asked me if I was okay, and I said I was still feeling sleepy and groggy. So, then she started fussing (again) with the sleeves of her jacket, pulling them down, repeatedly, saying "Look. Look."  I asked her what her jacket sleeves had to do with how I was feeling. I asked her why she was doing that and she still kept holding out her arm and pointing to the sleeve, then lifted the bottom hem of the jacket and showed me what she had underneath. I couldn't figure out what she was trying to 'say' by showing me the sleeves repeatedly and pointing out how the jacket and pants matched well. I said that I was the one who got her dressed, so she didn't have to keep showing me her outfit.....and asked her if she was wanting to put something else on instead. I got the same response....her pointing out things about her outfit, but not speaking except to say "Look."  Did she need longer sleeves? No. Different colors? No. Something warmer? No. Finally I said I did not understand what she was wanting me to "look" at, nor WHY.  I think the best thing for me to do is to STOP EXPECTING HER TO MAKE ANY SENSE.

No plans for today. It is the usual hot and humid weather, with predictions of rain and/or thunderstorms coming through here and there, later on. I heard that yesterday "Dollywood" had such a heavy rain downpour that it was flooded to the degree that they had to rescue people from rides, etc. ....and another news story about  a huge sinkhole had collapsed two lanes of a road in Charlotte. So, it seems like a good day to stay home!

Made it to my hotel but too late to join the group for dinner. Ordered a caprese salad with chicken from a cafe (did Uber Eats). This is a very old hotel.

Hello all!

I'm vegg-ing out on the Olympics, LOL!  Had restless legs last night, couldn't get to sleep till early in the a.m.  I rested a little today but didn't sleep.  Made some broccoli-cheddar soup for supper tonight.  Weight is stable.  We have music to do on Friday, at Old West Days, in Oak Glen.  Should be fun!

Agree, No Stars -- Do NOT expect her to make sense!

Ado, where are you, again?

Keep on keepin' on!  Have a good evening!

Hi, dianah. I'm in Montreal.  The risk mgmt group has to have a meeting in Vermont once a year. But travel to Vermont can be challenging (like my long day-and-a-half of travel last year) because not that many flights go in/out of Burlington. So they decided this year to have everyone travel to Montreal for the meetings. A smaller group (more important people than I) will drive to Vermont to hold a meeting. Seems like a silly rule, but the RRG is domiciled in Vermont, presumably for favorable tax/business purposes.

Thanks!  I had to look up Montreal on a map, and now I am oriented.  I have never been to that neck of the woods.  I'm glad travel wasn't as challenging as going to Vermont.  I hope the meetings are fruitful.

Hi. Rainy and overcast here. Currently very muggy. dh and I got groceries for the trip and loaded them directly into the travel trailer. I put a seasoned rub on some pork ribs and he is going to grill them in about an hour. I made fajitas last night, using a fresh green pepper from the garden. It seems weird that it is almost August and the only thing we've harvested from the garden (other than blueberries) is a solitary green pepper. Such a weird year. I was going to play online trivia but the zoom link doesn't seem to be working, so I will skip this week.

We traveled to Burlington VT last year, and it was quite a journey. We flew into Boston, spent the night,  then drove a rental car to Burlington, so yeah, it was quite a journey to get there. Beautiful country, though.

I have sort of given up on my weight. It's not worth it to me, to be hungry all the time and worrying about everything I put in my mouth. I don't know if it's because my metabolism is goofy, but I essentially have to starve to lose weight, and it bounces back on as soon I go back to eating normally. So I even quit weighing myself.
