Hope the dental appointments go well Tweety

Hi Stars

NJ22 that is odd that they would need a check for automatic payments

Ado that seems like a nice low key way to celebrate this birthday

Work was pretty good yesterday, not too busy.  Got a little crazy at times, partly because I found out there was a change to procedure I hadn't been told about until I heard from a coworker.  But other than that fine

The doctor appointment  went quite well, labs good, BP good, lost additional weight since the last appointment.  Getting close to my initial weight loss goal.  So celebrated with Godiva chocolates and some hot chocolate

Today nothing really planned except some laundry.  Work should be the same, barring any surprises

Will be another very cold day, only up to 1F.  However after today it will gradually warm over the next few days

Good morning!

Joe, glad your doctor's appointment went well.

I had some high blood pressure readings at the dentist.  170/90 prior to the root canal and 160/100 prior to the crown work.  Later at home it was 124/77 and it's never that low.  Go figure.

Things went okay.  I show up 15 minutes early and the root canal started early and finished early.  My next appointment with the dentist was about 40 minutes late.  The dentist wasn't the dentist I had before, didn't introduce herself or apologize for keeping me waiting and didn't say goodbye when she was done.  Not impressed, but hopefully she did good work.  The endodontist was a female Muslim wearing a hijab and the dentist doing the drilling for the crown had a Spanish speaking accent and was a female too.  I like the diversity of this office compared to my usual white male dentists I've had all my life.  Just an observation, as long as you're good, have good bedside manner, I'm fine.

Today I did the opposite of yesterday when I got up at 4:30 AM and got up at 10:00 AM.  I'm all messed up.  I need to find something in the middle around 8AM so I can get things done and not feel so washed out.  I stayed up to 1AM and got up around 6:45 AM to feed the dogs and went back to bed.

I'm leaving for an 8-day tour of India next Tuesday and will be off work until then.  Best friend is coming with and it's already paid for as it's been in the works for a while.  Looking forward to traveling again.

Wow, Tweety, 8 days in India! That is so cool, and it already being paid for is GREAT! ? Not to mention MANY days off from work, and oh brother, do you NEED it!

Rainy-ish right now, and the high is going to be something like 44 degrees.

I think tomorrow is the day SiL is coming over after she gets off work at 3 PM. I haven't asked her yet to arrange for me to have an entire day off. And my 'whole day' wouldn't start until mid-day, like noon-ish. I don't want to go anywhere, but just to be able to stay upstairs and attack cleaning up the small bedroom and maybe hang some pictures on the walls in the bigger bedroom. I have a half-dozen framed pictures SOMEWHERE in that shed that I really wish I could find, as they have always been my 'favorites'. But, as usual, that is an "Oh well" right now,

Wish I could make myself go out to take care of a few errands; need to drop off hubby's credit card bill with the lawyer so he can OFFICIALLY tell them they aren't going to get any more payments. But, I don't think it will get done today, as I just woke up and haven't got the gumpties to hurry up and get dressed and go right now. (bleh.)

A little while ago I took Momo down to the den and fed her breakfast, and just a minute ago I saw her curled up on the top step just out of my line of sight. I invited her back to bed and she squealed happily and came charging into the room, so I scooped her up and now she is back under the covers. I think I forgot to feed her supper last night, but she never made any indication she was hungry or wanted anything, and I didn't think of it until quite late. Bad Momo's Mama! But since she is supposed to be losing some weight anyway, I suppose no harm is done for her to do a tad of 'intermittent fasting" even if it was unintentional.

Would love to be able to curl up and go back to sleep, but I don't trust myself to wake up again in time to get Nannie up. Being a responsible adult kinda sucks sometimes.

I would just like to say that I think IOWA is totally NUTS! Hiss-boooooo!

Hi. It's overcast and cool, around 33. Rain or snow is supposed to come in tonight. I've just come back from the grocery store with the fixin's for 2 meals, and dh texted to say he is bringing home take and bake pizza. He is on this kick of printing recipes from the internet, and then suggested I pick some to make. Uh, okay. I also met eldest ds for lunch and we had a nice visit. He, sis, and I have the same heart issues, so we compare notes. dh is getting ready for Snowmagedon, and couldn't find the snow shovel. I told him I hadn't seen it since I last made pancakes (referencing Uncle Buck). He didn't see the humor.

I take bp readings at offices that use automatic cuffs with a grain of salt. You never know when they were last calibrated and half the time they use the wrong size cuff. My dentist is from Chile and she is delightful. And very kind.

Ugh, I need to keep working on my weight. The cold weather makes being active outside a pain, and I get the munchies in the evenings.

Wow, Tweety. That sounds like an interesting trip. Nice to have the time off work, too.

I had a female dentist back in Indiana that I really liked. Stepson always said she was "creepy" but I never understood why. When I first moved back here, I first went to the dentist I saw as a teen. Nice guy, big supporter of local Democratic politics. BUT he didn't even ask me what I wanted but wanted to put in silver amalgam fillings to replace old fillings.  Then I got a little nervous (remember, dental visits make me anxious anyway) during a procedure -- I don't remember what exactly bothered me. And another time he berated his assistant in front of me. I'm pretty content with the practice I go to now.

Yeah, Stars. The political world astounds me right now. Speaking of NUTS, our governor has called a special legislative session to discuss cutting state income tax by 0.25% -- so let's spend money to decide to bring in less money -- but such a small percentage that only the wealthiest taxpayers will even notice -- but remember we can't have nice things because expenses exceed revenue. In Oklahoma these days all you need is that (R) to get elected.

At Hubs' insistence, I've scheduled a visit with the vet Friday to talk about quality of life/ end of life issues for Darby.

Found out today that (a) I *can* edit the xml files before submitting them to CMS, and (b) I can also do a complete re-installation of the software for the CART tool and it will use the newer data elements. So I did my 7 stroke patients but will wait to get the new software before I do the 96 required ED patients.

J22, I need to get back to working on my weight. Last night Hubs said something like "I don't mean to be insulting, but the best thing you could do for that lower back pain is lose some weight."

*sigh*

Ado~ Come here and run up and down the stairs all day long; that's part of how I lost about 40 lbs in 6 years....The Nannie's-House Method! And tell your husband to 'Shuffle-Off-to-Buffalo', and zip it ? He could work a little on his attitude.

j22~ I had forgotten much of the Uncle Buck movie; I was thinking of watching it the other day, but Nannie can't tolerate plots, and humor often has to be explained to her. I was surprised I enjoyed Uncle Buck the first time I saw it, but didn't remember the pancake scene.

Time to go down to the den and retrieve my li'l Momo. Good night!

It's part of every boy's secret training to never mention a woman's weight or age (evidenced by Stars reaction).  But maybe Mr. Ado's been married long enough he felt safe to say what he did but should have known better.  LOL

I haven't ditched the holiday weight yet, but will wait until after vacation.  LOL

DeSantis and is every obedient Republican supermajority in the state of Florida made massive tax cuts but not many benefit me personally.  I've never been a fan of cutting revenue, even during good times.   A reference point to that idea was the massive tax cuts Trump handled out and then covid hit and we could have used that money and not gotten in as deep of debt.  But I'll save that for the political forums which I've been absent from lately.

I wouldn't have gotten the Uncle Buck reference.
