Tweety~ I am willing to switch your exciting day for one you can enjoy with Nannie!! It will be 'fun'! 😂 NO? Gosh, I would say you don't know what you're missing, but after all these years on this thread, I reckon that would not exactly be true!
She was a PIA last night. When I was getting her undressed to put on the pj's she asked me where 'we' were getting ready to go? Yuh, uh NOWHERE. It's bedtime!
She again got mad at me when I sharply told her to NOT stick her hand in the wastebasket in her bathroom. "Why do you keep telling me that?" Well, my gosh if she actually remembers I keep telling her that, why doesn't she remember WHY I keep telling her that? She also says, "I was just looking to see........" I told her the only things in that wastebasket are germ-laden! We also had an argument about how she will take 2 squares of TP to wipe off her hand after she wipes herself after she pees or poops......YOU NEED TO WASH YOUR HANDS! She frowns at me and says she just did. A flat out lie, but I suppose the two squares of TP are magically antibacterial?? And then she c/o the plastic water glass in the bathroom is STICKY; well, she picks it up with her not-washed hands! She tells me she 'always' washes her hands, but I don't ever remember her doing so without a reminder from me! I DO wash the glass up in the kitchen with HOT water and detergent; I suppose I should get a dispenser with paper cups for her, but if things are right in front of her face, she still doesn't see them. Ppfftt!
This morning I sloshed a full cup of coffee on my newly arranged and CLEAN bedside table/shelving. I swear!.....frequently!
So, ugh, another day, another dollar.
I have to get dressed and go get another cup of coffee so I can wake up properly. Then, we all know what time it is....and it ain't HOWDY DOODY TIME!
So, laydah, you'n's. Praying for a quiet day! (38 degrees and rain.)
Hello all!
Joe, stay safe in the snowstorm!
Tweety, how was bowling? Enjoy your day off.
NSIME, how aggravating! Number one, the mess on the bedside table; Number two, a waste of precious coffee! I hope you finally got your cup prepared and enjoyed. Hello Momo!
The low carb banana bread involved substituting wheat flour for almond and coconut flour, and maple syrup (or honey) for sugar. 3 eggs. Baking soda and salt; and, of course, mashed bananas! It wasn't NO carb, just lower carb than a 'usual' banana bread. It was pretty good! I used coconut oil in it.
Not much planned for today. Perhaps I can/will tackle one of many projects. Then again, perhaps a book will call to me...
Have a good afternoon/evening!
Had a surprise visit from BiL and SiL at 2 PM. They brought stuff for our supper (baked potato, meatloaf, and mixed (steamed) fresh veggies.
Then SiL cut my hair, and thank God for that.... I was starting to look like the Wreck of The Hesperus! She did a great job!
Then she took Nannie into the bathroom and gave her shower and 'did' her hair, got her dressed and back out to the recliner. Tomorrow morning she will only have to get her dressed and give her meds, then sweep her away to DayCare.
Meanwhile BiL had gone up to what used to be the Nannie's and "Baw-baw's" bedroom and started going through dresser drawers. Tossed LOTS of stuff that I wasn't sure about pitching out when I was weeding out the room quite some time back. Found old school photos of him and hubby (SiL and I divided those up between us.) from when they were very young. Aaaaannnnndd a whole TON of things Nannie was saving but would not recognize even if we TOLD her what it was. Newspaper snippets of obits of folks no one knows....etc, etc. etc. Have some more stuff to donate to the women's shelter shop. I'm getting to be a 'regular' there!
It is very freeing to throw stuff out! Between my hair cut, and the things we threw away and/or put in the donation pile, I feel about 11.38 % LIGHTER now! 😂 And the recycling bin is almost full to the top. I plan on dismantling all the boxes we had kept, thinking we'd wrap up Nannie's collection of 'good' dishes, and the like, possibly to sell. But, since that probably won't be taking place soon, and SiL works at the ABC store, we will NEVER be wanting for cardboard boxes! There is a stack and 1/2 between the LR and Dining Room that are going to be flattened and pitched. Guess I'll have to wrap the stack of them with twine, cause there's lots of them and they won't all fit in the recycling bin.
So, it is now 34 degrees, the sun has set, the clouds are thick and heavy, and the rain is coming down pretty good! If it eases up after a while, I will go out to check the mailbox.
Meanwhile, I will be dishing up our supper. Not sure if we will be watching the news or go straight to HGTV for the evening. Oh well, so what, who cares!
I'M HONGREEEEEE! 😳
Still cold, but not much wind. The snow is more or less evaporating, rather than melting into a big slushy mess. I got an email with a bunch of forms to sign and send off, so that I can finally get reimbursed for my car. We had to go to the auto licensing place to have them witness our signatures. both Dh and my name was on the title so we both had to be verified. And we both had to sign separate attestations to the milage on the car, which we have to take the auto body shop's word for, because the car is 50 miles away. Ah government, make everything as complicated as possible. Because the accident was not my fault, my insurance has a $500 deductible. But the other driver's insurance says I am 30% at fault for inattentive driving (you know, because I didn't see another car in the dark behind me drive into my car) , so they are only covering $350 of the deductible.
I got out in the yard and the sunshine, for a little while, which felt good. Did some laundry, moved some recycle around. Washed some clothes. I did get up at midnight, to book a campsite for August, but then had to wait until 6am. I think everyone else did the same thing, as my first choice was gone, but we got another, at 6;40. Whew.
I keep touching my face. It's so smooth, after my facial. She did a dermaplaning, and scrapes off all the dry skin, and the rare bit of facial hair I have. I don't know that I look any different, but it feels better.
Nannie told me one of the strangest things I think she has ever voiced to me: .......She said the table-lamp combo beside her chair is A VIRGIN. I said, "WHAT?" and she repeated herself. I said, "Are you SURE?" and she confirmed it !!
I wondered .... but not out loud ... how she could tell!
That piece of furniture has been in this house for AT LEAST 40 years. All I could think of was that movie "The 40 Year Old Virgin!"
No 'bout adout' it: I live in The Twilight Zone!
Uneventful travel (perhaps a bit bumpy on takeoff from Dallas). I have a large (to me) suite. Spent some time in the pool before dinner. The water was warm but the air a tad chilly for a wet person. The book I'm reading is suspenseful so I plan to get cozy and read until I fall asleep.

Stars sounds like a busy day for you
NJ22 wow that is quite a number of birds that you saw, some of those I don't think I've ever seen
Dianah I don't think I've heard of low carb banana bread
Ado safe travels
Work started off quite busy, wanted to get stuff done before a meeting, but the afternoon was quieter despite getting a new case
Rest of the day was fairly quiet. Exercised and set up a profile on a new dating site, but otherwise didn't do much else
Today have grocery shopping after work and a haircut scheduled but should otherwise be quiet
Bit colder today, in the upper 20s, major snowstorm should start tomorrow morning
