Tweety that is an interesting observation, perhaps work provides needed structure

Dianah I have to repeatedly adjust my antenna to get H&I and other channels to come in clearly

Stars I hope she's not coming down with something

Ado hope the new meds help her

Work was not bad yesterday, though for some reason I felt kind of tired and down most of the day.  It didn't lift until the evening.  Not sure why, unless it's stress related to beginning dating again.  And it could be triggering a lot of self-reflection too

Rest of the day was fairly ordinary, just exercised and did some chores

Tonight have laundry and book club, nothing exciting

Going to be a cooler day here in the lower 40s, still mild for this time of year

Good morning!

Joe, I hope you have a good day and feel less down.

Dianah, that is an interesting observation and that you knew yourself well enough that it was time.

I do hope I know when it's time to retire and not just go by a number.  Right now it's not possible because of finances (I could do it but would have to cut back and I don't want to do that), and I'm not mentally prepared.  It's something I think about, but it's still far enough in the future.

The one day I wouldn't have minded getting up early to get some things done and to prepare to go to bed early, I sleep until 7AM.  Annoying.

Heading to yoga here in a bit.  I've meal prepped some cajun beans with quinoa for work lunches for four days.  Need to mop the floors and then that's all my goals for the day.  LOL

Have a good day.

Well, I'm just confused! A couple of days ago the weather called for rain for several days, and now it is 60 degrees and sunny, with no rain in the forecast. Not complaining, but it's hard enough for me to tell what day of the week it is, never mind the ever-changing weather scene. I know New England's gotten a lot of snow, but that's about it.

I'm having coffee in bed and have been looking at the news feeds. Won't be getting Nannie up for at least an hour, so I haven't heard her dulcet baritone yet today. Last night I took her temp and it was only 99, and then the batteries in the thermometer died. I'll have to rob some AA batteries from something in order to check her temp this morning. There are relatively fresh batteries in a small flashlight so I'll have to rob them to take her temp this morning. I sure hope this is just a cold or something. She was out at a restaurant with us a few nights ago, and also went out to have a mani-pedi, so..... Guess we'll see if she is 'worse', then maybe I should go get a Covid test just to check it out. All these years she hasn't come down with ANYTHING; I guess because she hasn't been exposed to other people. Usually when I took her out she stayed in the car. For ME, even though I've had most all of my required vaccines, I am going to take some Vit C and zinc and ecchinacea (which I can never remember how to spell...) because those are my 'go-to's', the just-in-case supplements that work well for me.

It's Tooesdaie, I know that because that's what my cellphone and this laptop tell me! Tomorrow is when the SSA is supposed to call me at 11 AM to arrange for me to get my hubby's SS check. Too bad I couldn't get both his AND mine, it would surely help a whole lot! (Dream on, Stars!)

That's all I've got to say for now....

Joe,

Found the Svengoolie movie dull  so started watching Star Trek the Motion Picture again.  Have never gotten through all of it, as it's so slow moving

I am a child of the 60's-70s and loved Star Trek. But I saw the 1980s movie I was a an RN on a committee (Wisconsin) looking to give a better image of the nursing profession for education. I cannot remember the commercial/brand that said " I wanted her to be a doctor but she became a nurse." With all smiles at the end

Anyway the Star Trek movie came out where Nurse Chapel became a doctor. I wrote a letter to Gene Roddenberry complaining about this. Gene Roddenberry wrote me a letter..oh 5 months later. I was in grad school, picked up my mail, and was shocked by the Enterprise Logo on the envelope!

Gene  wrote they only made his wife chief doctor to stop Deforest Kelley from asking for more $$. Anyway I held it for several years but sold it on eBay in the late 90s.

Hello all!

londonflo, that's cool about receiving a letter from Gene Roddenberry!  Too bad they did go ahead with the change for Nurse Chapel.  I am a big Star Trek series fan (all the series); have not kept up with the movies.

I met with my friend C yesterday, hadn't seen her in at least 10 years, since the "kids" have grown up.  We had a nice lunch and chat.  Today I will walk at 4pm with S and T.  I need to make some sort of meal for the evening, as we finished the lentil stew last night.

Have a good day!

Good morning. Another sunny day here! I'll take it. We just had a contractor here to write up an estimate on updating some interior doors and woodwork. He's done work for my sister, so I feel confident about the quality of his work. And the dogs liked him, so that's always an endorsement. I have a taped educational video to watch about how to prune roses, and I plan to go out and fertilize my blueberries. They already have fat little flower buds emerging.

Dh just got back from having an ABI check--they measure and compare the blood pressures in your arms and ankles to assess blood flow to your feet. They didn't give him a number, but I don't feel he has a problem that way. He does have some diminished sensation, probably from diabetes.

Nannie is likely susceptible to all the little bugs out there, because of age and lack of exposure, which is too bad. I hope she is comfortable.

I should tackle some laundry, but it's so nice sitting here with sleeping doggos, and looking out the window at the fresh snow on the mountains.

I may not have a nice beach to photograph, but I do have majestic mountains.

Nannie seems better today; she has only coughed twice. I guess that could be either good (meaning she doesn't have any respiratory problems) or bad (she might have stuff collecting in her lungs). Anyway, no fever and she sounds better. Right now she is having her Afternoon Snooze-Fest. ? [For some reason this country song came into my head: "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it." ....because I enjoy her nap times so much!]

SiL texted and asked if I'd mind if she made Nannie a dentist appt. and I told her to have at it. Several years ago she was c/o either a broken tooth or a cavity that was irritating her inner cheek. She wouldn't let me look and she refused to go see a dentist. I told SiL to not tell her about the appt (which isn't until mid-June!) until she's in the car! She said she will propose it as a teeth-cleaning appt, and encourage Nannie by saying how much better she will feel after the appointment. SiL offered to take her, so why would I say no? SiL also came with us to Nannie's PCP appt, and asked him for a referral to a dermatologist to see if they could take care of something on Nannie's right cheek, where she picks at it. It's bigger than a mole. Don't have a date for that appt yet. This is so good, having SiL pick up on so many things. I used to be able to talk Nannie into things when I first moved here, but now it's SiL who has 'the way' of talking to her and gaining her cooperation. YAY!

nursej22, that was a beautiful photo of the mountains!  Enjoy your time with doggos and vistas, and maybe reading??

No Stars, nice that SiL is finding ways to care for Nannie, as relief for you!

I made a chicken-rice casserole (easy-peasy), we will have that for the next couple nights' dinner.  Then met S and T for an hour's walk, went over three miles.  Yay for us!  Getting ready to have a nice dinner and watch a Father Brown episode.

Have a good evening!

PS: j22~ Gorgeous mountain photo!

We spent so much time at the beach when I was growing up, that I always wanted to live in the mountains!
