I think today is Beethoven's birthday

Tweety hope the meeting with the legal team went well

Ado that is an unusual number of deaths so close together

Stars glad you got a break from her

NJ22 a lot of people feel down over the holidays, hope you feel better. I was feeling down a bit earlier this month

Hi Dianah

Work was surprisingly busy yesterday, got a new case and a lot of documents to review and calls to make.  The morning was especially busy but the afternoon calmed down a bit.  Managed to stay pretty calm despite all of it

Rest of the day was pretty ordinary, just exercised and did more gift wrapping

Today I switch to the new computer.  Hopefully that works out OK, if so then it should be a pretty calm day, otherwise it could get crazy.  But I'm not letting the potential for trouble get me too nervous.  Will start the day early in case any issues arise

Should be a fairly calm night, will do the grocery shopping and the remainder of the gift wrapping, though one gift has not yet arrived

Going to be a bit colder today, in the upper teens, should be warmer the rest of the week

Good morning!

Go hope you have a smooth day.

It's "Florida cold" today in the low 50's.  But we're expecting warmer nights in the 60's through Xmas.

The meeting with the legal team went well.  It's a patient I admitted and had for 7 hours and not sure why I'm involved.  I don't remember him well at all but it sounds like he's lying.  They gave me some good tips on how to deal with the upcoming unsworn statement.  I guess it proceeds I'll have to move on to sworn statements and a trial.  It's a civil suit and the guy had a bad outcome and I feel bad about that, but his case against me personally seems pretty weak.

Just read on Facebook that my sister's ex-husband's new fiancé is going for brain tumor surgery tomorrow.  Life can change in an instant.  I hope she'll be okay.  My ex-brother and I lost touch after our dogs died and we quit baby sitting each other's dogs.  They apparently were getting married in four days and I didn't know about that.  I wouldn't need to.

I spoke with my parents last night and they all seem well.  I sent them a gift basked of snacks for Christmas.  Never know what to get them.  I'll send my sister an Amazon gift card like always.

Today I have what hopefully is a brief meeting on Teams about our new telemetry monitoring station and then a haircut.  I have meal prep and household chores to do.

Bowling is over and we got 15th place, which is two places out of last, a position we have for 14 weeks and snapped out of it the last two weeks.  🙂 Our prize was $75 apiece.  I'll take it.  New season doesn't start until after the new year.

Have a great day.

Hello all!

Joe, I hope work is OK today, especially with the computer switch.

Tweety, glad to hear the meeting with the legal team went smoothly.  I hope this won't require any more of your participation, though I know how things can go...  One feels badly that there are ANY bad outcomes, but there is a lot we have no control over, that can influence the outcomes.  Yet we are "involved."  Too bad about the brain surgery coming up, I hope that outcome is encouraging.  Congrats on your team's placement!

Sunday's program was received well, they were very welcoming, friendly, and forgiving (LOL!).  I didn't feel I was at my sharpest, but we got through the program.  Before we did our part, we participated in their "soup night" -- several containers of soup and breads were set out (besides the dessert table!), and we all filed past and took a bit of whatever soups we fancied.  We were forewarned by our bass player (it was his and his wife's church) to bring a muffin tin, which we did.  So, one took a (heat-tolerant) paper cup, and poured a serving of soup of choice into it, then placed the cup into one of the muffin areas in the tin, then moved on to the next tureen of soup!  It was a lot of fun and very tasty!

I slept well after the church program Sunday night, and we got up early yesterday and drove to Disneyland to spend the day walking!  We got to hear our favorite bands -- caught the Dickens Yuletide Band twice! -- and got in 13,608 steps (4.76 miles).  Had a nice meal at the Rancho del Zocalo (Mexican) restaurant, and got a chance to chat with a very nice couple, who were visiting for a few days from Utah.   We also got to catch up with one of the Cast Members who works there, we'd met him before, and hadn't seen him in awhile, so it was good to touch base with him!

I slept well last night, and today is Rest Day, though I will meet my friend S at 3:30 to walk and chat.  Tomorrow I need to go to the grocery store, and I may mail the gifts to youngest ds, though I am missing one item that hasn't arrived yet.  Apparently it is coming from Northern Europe, as I have received word that it has passed through both Denmark and Finland customs, and is now going through US Customs.  Had NO idea, when I ordered it, that it was coming from so far away, and that it would take so long to arrive!  Oh well.

As I still am plagued with insomnia once or twice a week, I ordered a Glow Chai Tea, which arrived yesterday.  It is supposed to help one sleep.  I have tried several things that have not helped (Relaxium; a patch of natural ingredients; melatonin; magnesium, etc, to name a few), I might as well enjoy some tea before bed.

It is supposed to be in the 80's today -- certainly NOT Winter weather!  Rain is predicted for Christmas Day.  It is usually 75 degrees and clear for Christmas!

Have a good afternoon and evening!

Joe, I hope the computer transition is smooth. I got a new computer a few weeks ago and there were small snags in the process but overall not bad.

dianah, let us know if the tea is helpful.

Tonight is the hospital Christmas party and I'm going to go, but Hubs is choosing to go to choir practice instead. He says at least one of us should go (choir is usually on Wednesday but this week got moved to Tuesday, wouldn't you know?). I'm wondering if we can even do our cantata -- our only strong soprano fell and broke a femur yesterday.

Last night's concert at OU was fun -- our little flute choir did 2 pieces. I had some bobbles but maybe they weren't too noticeable. Got kind of nervous, which I didn't think I would do. There were other small ensembles and a group that play ukuleles. Back when Twin B played in the New Horizons Band a few years ago we played ukulele with that group. Now, it would be hard for him because they meet on Sunday afternoons and he works Saturday night and Sunday night. I could go but Hubs would probably resent it a little bit -- just one more time that I go out and play while he sits with his mom. Also, I've forgotten everything I learned.

Chilly day, but not as FRIGID as yesterday was. When I took Tinker out to walk, we weren't 6 steps from the house when she got very excited. and somehow wrapped her leash around my ankle and then charged at something she THOUGHT she saw.....which pulled my feet out from under me and I fell HARD on my right side, No real damage done that I can tell, except I am still quite SORE where I landed (hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist). Nannie said she didn't even see me fall or knew that I fell, even though I was right in her field of vision, She may have seen me, but then by the time I came back into the house, after I struggled and finally got up and finished walking Tinker, she didn't remember it anymore.

Well, Nannie is wrapping her hands up in the hems of her two jerseys. I don't really want to put one of 'those' sweaters on her, as I don't want to be subjected to 6 or more hours of her adjusting and readjusting it. So, I will turn on the electric fireplace......maybe the warmth of the room and the hum the fireplace will lull her into sleep? One can always hope, tho' many of my 'hopes' seldom come to fruition.

A wild day for weather here. It remains unseasonably "warm" at 50. Sunbreaks, showers, hard rain, and now winds at 30 mph. More hard rain and flooding predicted. We did a little shopping--Kraken hoodie for grandson, gift certificate for eldest ds and his wife. I already got them a nice Hexclad pan via mail-order but dh didn't pick it out so he felt he had to get something more. We dropped off discards at the Humane Society thrift store, looked for some flower seeds that aren't available yet, and Costco for a prescription, and yet more eggs. While we were waiting in traffic I ordered a gift for youngest ds and other grandson. And I think I'm about done with gift shopping.

I almost ordered some Belgium chocolate, but then when I saw how much duty was, and shipping time, I deferred. And I thought eldest ds and DiL were going to the Netherlands, and they might get some for me, but alas, they are not.

I need to get busy looking for an Alaskan cruise for this Spring or Summer. 7 days, when it takes a day and a half to get there doesn't seem enough. But 10 days is almost twice the cost. Hmmmm.

I home the computer transfer went smoothly.

tweety, I would be a nervous wreck! I used to chart a lot of detail, because I was afraid of being sued and I figured my employer would throw me under the bus.

I am so jealous of you music makers.

Good grief stars, I hope your owies heal quickly. I still have scabs on my knees from my tumble 2 weeks ago.

Ugh, No Stars!!  I hope you aren't too banged-up from your tumble!  Tinker, you need to be careful with your Mummy!!  I hope the evening is quiet, and Nannie goes meekly to bed and right to sleep.

Wow, that's some weather, nursej22!  Good you got the Christmas shopping done.  Alaska cruise sounds nice!  But twice as expensive for a 10-day VS 7-day?  Let us know what you decide!

Ado, how was the Christmas party?  Will the cantata still go forward, in spite of the soprano's recent fracture?

I picked up dh's watch.  The repair man said he replaced "the works," and it was running fine now!  Dh is glad to have it back!  Then I went for a walk with S.  Just before we left to walk (from her place), I pulled out my phone to turn up the volume, in case dh called.  The phone was DEAD.  Just DEAD!  I took it back to the car and plugged it in, with the car running -- nothing happened!!  So I called dh on S's phone, and informed him I was impaired, phone-wise, and he could reach me via S's phone, if he needed to.  We then had a nice walk, though it sure got cold after the sun went down.  I think it was 78 when we started at around 3:45, and by the time we got back at 4:45, it was 65 -- cold for us!!

When I got home, dh took out the chip, and basically re-booted the phone.  It re-booted fine, turned on, and everything worked as it should!  Go figure!  If it happens again, I will likely go buy a new phone, for the old one, IMO, would not be reliable.

That's it from here!  Tomorrow is grocery store day, and mail packages day.  And whatever else I can think of to do...  I may bake another cranberry-orange breakfast cake, dh LOVED it!

Have a good evening!
