Tweety a potluck sounds fun

Stars I hope the day care works out

NJ22 weather has been like that recently around here

Dianah sounds like a productive day

Ado I plan to watch the latest season of Call the Midwife once I'm done with Outlander

Work was good yesterday, not too busy or too rushed.  Decided to do the grocery shopping after work, then came home and exercised

Today will be picking dad up from his TEE this morning, should be able to do that during lunch although will start work a little early this morning in case it proves longer than anticipated.  Nothing else planned today except for exercise

Going to be a colder day, in the low 40s will be a bit colder the rest of the week

Good morning!

Joe, hope the TEE goes well.

J22, you only live once!  When are your going to Europe?

Stars, hope the day care situation works out.

The potluck was good.  I through away any diet and ate well, including sweets.

My 91 year old father used Venmo to send me $100 for Christmas.  Who says old people don't know how to use a smart phone?  I'll get some music and books and make sure I spend it on myself friviously.

Went to a meeting at work to give some support since they said last meeting no one showed up.  Some unit council.  More people attended because they get some sort of credit towards their "portfolio" which gets them a higher salary..committee work, BSN, certification, precepting all count towards getting a raise.  I chose not to get a portfolio because after 33 years there I'm maxed out on my salary and am 3 to 5 years towards retiring.

Will do some cooking and go to yoga.

Am going to try to make a concerted effort to get up a bit earlier so I don't blow a whole afternoon off, once Nannie starts Daycare. Which ORT to BEE tomorrow (as in Wednesday). Anyway, I don't want to NOT have time to myself while she is gone, which is what will happen if I sleep away 1/2 the day. So I woke up at 10 AM and managed to make myself get out of bed by 10:30 AM. Have fed Momo, then taken my meds and have had 1st cup of coffee. (And yes, if I lay down again now, and closed my eyes, I'd be a goner for sure).

Nannie was soooooo tired last night, she actually agreed to go to bed at 9 PM, and I am hoping that also gets to be part of the routine. Me? I turned out my light at 12:10 AM, so that's a good thing, too. I did wake up an hour after I fell asleep, which is quite normal for me, for some reason; so I had a munch of a high fiber date-bar, similar to a fig-newton, and went back to sleep after about 45 minutes.

So, anyway, I reckon I should go down and get Nannie up and dressed. SiL is going to come get her in a while to take her to the Urgent Care Ctr to have her TB test read, then will bring her back home and go on to her job. She is already wondering if she can get away without having the surgery for the spinal fusion if it feels okay post-injections. 🙄 She's not the kind of person who can easily slow down her regular routine of doing everything. I told her if she does have surgery I may have to sit on her or duct-tape her down the first little while, to keep her from ruining the surgeon's work and having to go through it all over again!

I think my AM meds have started to kick in. I plan on getting dressed and going downstairs for a second cup of coffee and then get Nannie up. I have heard some bump/noises from downstairs, so I don't know if Nannie is already up or if SiL has come to get her up.....I hope it is the latter. I'm always up for someone else doing my work for me 😂. Besides which, once again I have 3 days worth of kitchen cleaning and dish washing to get done. And I have to put Nannie's laundry in the dryer. The fun never ends, does it?

Ugh, I think I am getting sick. Nasal congestion, icky feeling in my throat, and I just want to sleep.

Fingers crossed that daycare works for Nannie.

Best wishes to Joe's dad for good results from his TEE.

I used to participate in nursing councils, but I got jaded when the person who led them didn't follow through. And management ignored any recommendations. Thats partly  why I was active with the union. Unions are perfect, but they are heard.

I was going to make cookies but I just want to sleep. I have to pick up prescriptions so I'll get some pseudofed, which usually helps my stuffy nose.

The dogs have decided that this is a good time to have a wrestling match on my bed. Go away, world.

SiL took Nannie to the Urgent Care for a (hopefully) quick read of her TB test site. I have started the dryer up with the clothes I washed last night. I have emptied all the wastebaskets and trash into the bins outside. Checked the weather report on TV and they said 67 degrees and later on maybe some light rain. Now I am about to go up to the kitchen and get those dishes washed up (again). For Christmas I'd like to get a housekeeper and laundress, but they aren't "on sale" so I think it's probably a no go with that idea!

Maybe this afternoon I will sit with Nannie in the den and bring my recycling down here to separate it into shredding and recycling piles....take off the name and address and those little encoded squares they now have on everything, to be shredded and the rest of the empty envelopes, etc, into the recycling bin.

So....to the dishes first!

Hoping for good results from the TEE.

Tweety, I could have fun with some money to spend on myself frivolously. Music would be the main thing, I think. I'm impressed that your father used Venmo. In fact, it reminded me that I can do that for stepdaughter. As soon as I get paid. 🙂

J22, how did you choose the spots you're traveling to (forgive my forgetfulness -- Brussels and ?) ?

It was cloudy/overcast this morning but should clear up later. And in the mid-50s

We chose Brussels and Holland for a couple of reasons:

Dh and I  have always wanted to see the gardens at Keukenhof--its a huge tulip garden  near Lisse, Holland, and we are avid gardeners

Eldest ds traveled there once and was so impressed by the museums

we will see Flanders Field and dh is a big history buff.

I would have liked to go to Italy, but dh didn't think he could tolerate the walking or the heat.

We are going at the end of March, for 11 days.

Here's a "Don't It Just Figure" entry:

When SiL brought Nannie back home, she said they wouldn't/couldn't read the TB test site because they said it had to be read AFTER 3:15 PM. BUT....on the paper they gave me, someone from the urgent care had written on it specifically to have it read BY 3:15 PM at the latest. So SiL has to bring Nannie back over there when she comes to get her tomorrow morning, then she will take her over to the new daycare place. She got Nannie a glass of iced tea to go, drove her around a little bit, and then brought her home. Now Nannie is conked out 😁 Makes me think of that country song: "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it!"

The four hours Nannie spent at daycare yesterday was a freebie, because it was just an intro and assessment to see if Nannie would fit in, and since she 'passed muster',   tomorrow will officially be her first paying day there. I don't know what it costs for the two days they signed her up for (Mon and Weds). It seems they are pretty flexible about what time she will arrive and when I pick her up. I plan on doing the 4:30 PM pick up so I don't have to be driving during rush hour, after it gets dark at 5 PM. If she is 'still around' to attend after the clocks get changed again, I will be picking her up later in the afternoon 'cause it will be light later.

Doncha know,  it will be NICE to have most of the day off tomorrow, and then provided Chatty CG doesn't call out, she will be here Thursday from 1 to 6 PM. So w00t! Two afternoons to myself!  Haven't made any actual plans, so maybe I can get to be SPONTANEOUS about what I feel like doing! That would be a change for a change!

The dishes are washed, the laundry is folded, and now I "can go to the Ball!" (like Cinderella, only "No-Starsarella"?)  I'm kinda hungry so I will go upstairs and nab myself a late lunch - early supper.

Unless something weird or spectacular or noteworthy happens, I'll talk whichoo'alls tomorry!

Hello all!

nursej22, your trip sounds more and more intriguing!  I love the touching poem about Flanders Field.  And the museums and the flowers!!  Yay you!!  (and, I hope you are NOT getting sick)

No Stars, now don't get wild and crazy on us, LOL, with two afternoons off this week!!  SO glad the day program for Nannie is (so far) working out for time off for YOU!!

Ado, what kind of music do you like?

Joe, how did the TEE go?  Smoothly, I hope.

Last night was the usual: slept till 4, then couldn't sleep after that (finally dropped off for another hour).  I did some Christmas shopping this afternoon (very minor, just a couple small things for us from "Santa," to open on Christmas morning), and then got some groceries and stopped to fuel up the car.  We will have soup tonight (took it out of the freezer yesterday so it should be ready).

We watched the movie Red One, about the kidnapping of Santa Claus by some Winter Witch.  Starring Dwayne Johnson, Lucy Liu, and a couple ppl I don't recognize (but that's not saying much, I don't keep up with 'the stars').  It was creative, energetic, and entertaining.  Lots of CGI.  The best thing: Santa is SAFE at the end!  I think our boys would like it.

Have a good evening!
