Good morning!
Ado, sorry to hear about the accident. Glad no one was hurt.
Joe, hope today isn't too busy.
I do indulged a lot the past week and am going to take it easy for a while. Fortunately I have no crap here but work will likely still have cookies and candy. Will have to avoid that.
Noticed that somehow I either broke a tooth or filling. Hadn't even eaten anything but a smoothie. Unfortunately my dentist is closed for the entire week, but fortunately was able to get another dentist in the town just north of here. We're a big megapolis so you can't tell it's another city. Will take me only about 20 minutes.
It's always something with me and dental work.
I was up at 4:45 thinking it was later but stayed up since I wasn't sleeping. Already took a nap by 8:00.
Otherwise nothing much planned. Need to go to the grocery store and meal prep a couple of lunches for work.
Have a great day.
61 degrees and rain. Was rebellious last night and read until 3 AM. Slept until noon. Now am waking up with a cup of coffee. Then it's time to get the Nannie-person up. SiL left me a text earlier in the AM, that she would have Thursday afternoon off and plans to sit with Nannie for a few hours. At least I think that's what the text said; I'll have to check the phone in a while to make sure I've got it straight. Have to go out to pick up more dog food. and to see if I can find some of those 34" x 36" underpads; need paper towels, white vinegar, laundry detergent, Magnesium supplements, white cornmeal, Also need to stop by the bank and see what my new checking acct # is, and get some cash, and a few checks to use until my new ones arrive. But first I need to finish waking up.
Later-----
Stars, you rebel! ?
Thanks for the kind words, Joe. Everyone seems to be in a better place today. Twin A is sore, mainly in the sternal area from the airbag. Thank goodness for the airbag! EMTs did check him out last night.
One of my "facebook memories" for today is from 2017, when I said "Nine (9) admits today. Two (2) nurses. Thankful for the aide who came in to help and the case manager who helped". Back when we *had* a case manager on site. That was when we still did swing beds, too.
Nannie's observant weather remarks for the day: "Look at those big puddles out there!', "It sure is wet today!", "It's dark out there today!", "There sure is a lot of rain coming down." Yep, she's 100% correct!
It is already 3 PM and I haven't made any moves to go out on errands. I may end up....likely will end up....blowing off the errand run until tomorrow. It's not like anything on my list is critical! Nannie is resting with her eyes closed, but she isn't asleep. Momo just just got out of her little, fuzzy, round bed, and then burrowed underneath it. I am starting to get hungry, and may eat some late breakfast/lunch, and eat something for supper later on in the evening. I'll feed Nannie at her 'regular-ish' time. Momo didn't eat her breakfast, so there it sits. I guess she'll eat it later.
I made another executive decision this morning....When the others come over to help me move my bed into my new room, I am going to have them take the twin-bed box Spring and mattress out to the trailer and dump them with the rest of the stuff in it. I know the double-bed box Spring and mattress out there in the open trailer are thoroughly SOAKED because I'm as brilliant as Nannie is! Anyway, getting the piled-up junk off of the guest bed and thrown out will allow me to then wash the bedspread and linens. Prolly will have to ditch the pillows on that bed as well.....more than 20 years old, flattened down, heavy feather pillows. After so long chafing at the bit, it is good to be able to see some work accomplished and anticipate that I will get that mess upstairs cleaned up and FINALLY be more organized. It's gonna feel so peaceful up there one of these days.....soon!
Doing some laundry...hers and mine and a collection of towels, all in one load. Nannie's bed was made by her, with its wet spots soaked through, but it is not huge patches of wetness, and is only damp, so I folded back the covers to expose the damp areas, and turned the ceiling fan on high to run until it is her bedtime. I am tired of feeling like a motel maid laundering and then Putting. Clean. Sheets. on. her. bed. Every. Single. Day! But, at least I do keep the urine odors at bay. I can't smell anything, but when I asked SiL, she said there were no 'old-lady odors' lingering down here. ?
Good afternoon. I think im recovered from yesterday. I was so tired last night after dinner, opening gifts and pie. Sis wanted to play a board game or cards, but I was just beat. Our dogs were, too. Ds and dd brought their big dogs and our little guys were nervous. And I couldn't sit with them to calm them between cooking serving and cleaning up. We took in a nice long walk in the partial sunshine. Temps up to 50, feels almost balmy.
Annie, good to hear that you son wasn't more seriously hurt. I confess, I've dozed in traffic, did bump a car while crawling along in heavy traffic. I get what I think might be narcolepsy, and when it comes on, there's nothing I can do but pull over and sleep for 10 or 15 minutes. I haven't done it for a couple of years.
I know I would resent washing and changing all that linen. I am still amazed Nannie doesn't get more skin breakdown.
Joe, beautiful bird pic!
Hello all!
Last night we slept better (both without anti-tussives), and we are feeling better today, but we both just got up from an afternoon nap. I have slothed in bed most of the day, reading or resting. Wasn't too excited about lunch but ate because it was time to. Dh just got word that parts are in for our car (the front left grille area). Will make an appt to take it to the shop, when we are feeling better. It is nice out, just a little crisp. Too bad I don't want to go out in it.
No Stars, have you ever considered using InstaCart? My friend, whose husband is a quadriplegic, uses it all the time, says it's a great time-saver. Just a thought. Yes, part of re-organizing is getting the ideas and then making them happen! Good on ya, getting all the ideas straight!
Ado, so relieved your son is OK (albeit sore!). Cars can be replaced.
nursej22, hope you got some rest after a busy day!
Tweety, ugh, dental work! Hope it's not too extensive.
Joe, hope work was OK today, even with reduced staff. Good on you, that you get out for birdwatching!
Have a good evening!
What is InstaCart? Is that when you have grocery store personnel take your list and shop for you, to pick up later? Uh-uh, if that's what it is, no, I don't want it.
Ado!~ I meant to say yesterday that I'm glad to know your son wasn't hurt.
Time for me to stretch out and read some more of the book that kept me up so late... It is GIRL, FORGOTTEN by Karin Slaughter. She really knows how to knit characters and events together in the most interesting ways. Seems like there are new plot twists, turns, and surprises every few pages; hard to put down!
I have to go downstairs and get my milk, a banana, and some 'Skinny' popcorn....and after I bring it up to the bedroom, I have to go down and pick up Momo, as well! She does the stairs most of the time by herself, but I find when I leave her down on the den until last....she has time to eat or pee or poop, none of which she likes to have an audience for. Modest Momo!
Glad you guys on are on the mend.
Stars, Instacart is when you order online on your computer or (mostly) smart phone, someone shops for you and delivers it to your home. Something I knew when I read the suggestion you would have no interest in. I've never used it myself as the stores are very close by. It apparently has 10 million users and is a good way for people to make some extra cash being a shopper for folks.
I'm not surprised that I need a crown but was surprised to find I need a root canal first. Ugh.......not 100% surprising because I have had some vague pain there and the gum around the tooth has been inflamed. It is what it is. The initial payment was over $700 for yesterday's visit and many hundreds in the days to come. The visit was very thorough as they took a bunch of X-rays and took some pictures. I liked the dentist that will be doing the crown. She thinks it's because I grind my teeth. I actually do grind. I don't know if I do when I'm asleep but it's a nervous habit when I'm awake too. Thankfully I have $3,000 available to spend in my Health Savings Account. One of the reasons I decided to defer medicare and stay in the HSA was because of my bad karma with dental expenses...case in point.

Dianah hope you and your DH recover soon
NJ22 that is a lot of baking
Stars that sounds like a nice Christmas
Tweety that is an awful lot of admissions
Ado I hope your son isn't too discouraged, given that it's been 10 years since his last accident. And I hope you're not taking your stepson's texts too seriously, given that they're driven by severe mental illness
Was a quieter day yesterday. The rain held off so I was able to get out bird watching but didn't see much. Was going to make a fancy omlette for lunch but didn't feel that hungry due to all of the cheese and chocolate. Did try out a recipe for a stove stop no knead bread, which turned out pretty good. Drove out to my aunt and uncle's old house, where we used to spend Christmas. Watched A Charlie Brown Christmas and White Christmas
Today likely will be busy. Have 3 of the 5 people on our team off, thankfully one returns tomorrow. Though with the office closed hopefully no new work arrived. Will be doing some fasting to make up for having overdone it during the holiday
Will be cooler again, in the low 40s. Yesterday it got up to nearly 60
