Hi Tweety

NJ22 I find an increasing number of movies today are quite long

Stars seems like a good idea now that it's colder

Work was good yesterday, kept busy most of the day but not too busy.  Had time to help out at the end of the day.  Rest of the day was pretty quiet, just exercised and relaxed

Today should be a pretty ordinary day at work.  After work will do the usual grocery shopping

Will be colder today, only up to the mid 20s.  No snow expected

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

This morning's Christmas CD is Sheryl Crow.  I'm a big fan of hers but Christmas music is not a good fit for her.  meh..

I recently saw Nick Offerman in a dramatic role in a movie called "Sovereign" and he was good.  Not too familiar with his work in comedy though.  I have his Netflix miniseries on my watch list.  Not sure I will watch Wicked Part 2, I wasn't a huge fan of the first one, but might watch it just to be complete.

Waffles got me up precisely at 6AM and then my alarm went off so her clock has been reset.  I don't dress her up in clothes.  The one time I put a sweater on my late Caesar he hated it.  Even though they are thing and short haired, it's Florida and they do okay.

Glad I got Waffles to the vet.  Turns out there's in infection in her cornea.  We're going with aggressive medical treatment which involves multiple drops every three hours (not at night). Best friend is coming over tomorrow and Thursday to help while I'm at work.  If this doesn't work, she made need a surgery or even lose the eye.  Yikes.  She has to wear a cone which I hate and went and got her a softer one which cost $40 (really?).  Follow up on Friday.

On top of my own medical issues, financial strain and Waffles, I kind of did a nose dive into anxiety and depression last night.  I felt my feelings and made it through and am pretty much myself.  My default has never been Pollyanna.  Listened to my meditation app this morning and that helps some.

Today the air conditioner guy is coming for an inspection and routine maintenance so hopefully he won't find anything wrong.  Then going to do some chores.  Best friend is coming over around 3pm when Waffles has a bunch of drops due to discuss the routine.  It's so complicated I made us a check off list to check off what we give and when so we don't miss anything or get mixed up and ask "did I give this or not?".

Hope everyone has a good day.

Around 40 degrees, grey and rainy. Dishes piled up once again; laundry, too. The usual Financial Frets, Nannie Nonsense, Cluttered Mess in my current room and my previous room. No time to deal with it. Ho-hum; same old / same old.  And it's only Tooze-Daie.

Hello all!

Friday we drove up to Oak Glen to listen to friends play in their band.  They are ALWAYS good, and we enjoyed the cool fall weather, watching apple butter get made in large cauldrons over an open fire, browsing through vendors there for the Apple Butter Festival.  It was good to see our friends and catch up.

We had a really nice day on Sunday, walking around Disneyland and California Adventure.  It seemed everyone wanted to be festive, as we saw LOTS of seasonal t-shirts worn, some matching for couples, and a few families who all wore matching jammies sets!  One man, leaning on a doorway near the Carnation Cafe, wore a red fleece onesie, with Ho-Ho-Ho printed all over it in white.  He certainly looked warm!

We got to hear four bands, visit with a friend in one of them, and overall enjoyed seeing all the decorations.  At one point, on a whim, we made our way over to It's A Small World.  The sun had just gone down, but the lights were not on the facade yet.  Oh, wait!  Ppl were gathered, phones held aloft, waiting...  and there it came, the music and introduction to The Lighting of It's A Small World!  We've never seen the exact moment of lighting before, that was exciting!!  (I didn't take a photo, have posted other photos of it through the years)

When we left, we stood in line for the trams to take us back to the parking structure, and waited and waited and waited...  apparently there was some sort of tram issue.  So we decided to walk back, through Downtown Disney.  We stopped to get a hot beverage at a little spot near the bandstand.  I got a decaf latte with sugar-free vanilla, and I surprised dh, getting him a horchata.  Then an announcement came over the speakers, and --- it started snowing!!  (well, Disney "snow," which is soap-based but looks like real flakes floating down)  I knew they presented "snow" at Downtown Disney (as well as at the parks) certain times, but was thrilled to see it coming down, amid the decorations!

Once the snow and music stopped, a barbershop quartet started their program, singing from the bandstand -- all Christmas arrangements!  They were very good, and it was cool to be there for both the snow and the singing!

Overall a good day!  11K steps, even with dh's pretty-much-healed-but-still-gives-twinges ankle.

Yesterday we had band practice in the afternoon.  Tonight we will meet at the little TV station (LLBN, which is close to where we live) at 4:30, will do two songs during their 6-7pm live Christian Connections program.  They requested Christmas songs, so we will do our arrangements of Joy To the World and Angels We Have Heard On High.

This Saturday is the Southwest Bluegrass Association's Christmas Jam and Potluck.  They supply fried chicken, and we all bring the sides and our own drinks.  And let the jamming begin!

That's it for now.  Have a good afternoon and evening!

Today started rainy, but the sun came out and the wind is calm. I did not sleep well, I got up at 2 to take some Tylenol, Aleve, and tums, and sat up for about an hour for the meds to kick in. My knees are not happy. So I got a late start on the day. I washed some dishes, through clothes in the washer, and got a short dog walk in. Dh has been putting out mason bees each Spring, and to help more survive the Winter, we cleaned them and removed the mites and fungus that can kill them. We had to split the tubes they were nesting in, scoop out the cocoons, soak in bleach water, rinse, and dry. Fingers crossed that some survived, so we don't have to buy new ones. dh is leaving for Costco soon, and I may take a nap.

I'm glad Waffles got in and treated. I had an infected corneal ulcer once, and it one of the painful things I've experienced.

We've been to Disney at Christmas time and it's lovely. Thats a lot of steps!

Sounds like a neat day, dianah!

Mason bees? For pollination?

Glad Waffles is getting treatment.

So. After telling us Friday that so far no facilities were willing to take Gma for respite care, they called yesterday and... Gma left at noon today to stay at a (nice) facility in OKC until Sunday! I hope all goes well. I'm taking time off though I went in today for a meeting and will again tomorrow.

Last night I woke up around 2 am and noticed that Ilsa the kitten was on the bed so I reached down to pet her and she was covered in oil. We have a pet door between the kitchen and garage that we close when the garage door is open or Hubs is doing something that could put the cats in danger. He had a tub with gear oil in it that she somehow managed to get into. She was coated from her neck down. So at 2 am we bathed the kitten with Dawn dish soap. Then cuddled her the rest of the night. She seems to be fine. She left oily tracks through the kitchen and living room and oily spots on my quilt.

I took Ilsa and Binx for vaccines today.

Yes, mason bees emerge earlier than honey bees so they are great for early flowering fruit, like blueberries and pears. I think they have noticeably increased our blueberry production. And they are docile and don't sting.
