Tweety that is cold for Florida

Stars that seems like a good idea

NJ22 sounds like an interesting book

Work was not bad yesterday, although it was a bit busier than expected, probably because I got a new case.  Today might be quieter

After work was quiet, stopped at the store an exercised

Decided I won't do book club tomorrow.  I found the book boring and didn't finish it, and don't have much to say about it.  Plus it's going to be busy week for me

I also want to test myself before doing any after work events, as someone at the Christmas party came down with Covid. Thankfully no one at my table

Will do the grocery shopping tonight and other errands as tomorrow and Thursday will be busy.

Remains pretty cold here, in the upper 30s

Didn't do MY laundry yesterday, so it will be done today. Last night I slept for an hour, then woke up, then slept another hour and woke up again. However, after that I slept except when the two times my bladder started shouting at me. It gets hard to ignore at a certain point, y'know?

Would love for someone to offer to stay with Nannie for an afternoon, as I need and want to clear up my room of papers stacked here and there, and file or toss them. And continue preparing the bigger bedroom for my 'permanent' residence. It will certainly take more than an afternoon, but having the freedom to ignore my other usual daily tasks for Nannie would be so nice!  I haven't got any 'going out' type of errands I have to do today. SiL said that after the holidays she will make a routine so that either she or my niece will be giving me a day off every week. Heck, even every other week would be nice! Any time truly off-duty is appreciated! C'mon 2024!

Meanwhile, yes, it's time to get Nannie up out of bed. (yippie. yahhooooo. and all those other happy, excited sounds. NOT!)

Prolly will be back here laydah awn...

Good afternoon.

Joe, hope you don't have covid.  A coworker recently had it.  She's young and said she was awfully sick with it.

Stars, getting some relief weekly will be good for you I'm sure.

The insomnia bug bit me early in the AM and finally before 6AM I got up.  Putzed around some and then went back to bed at 8AM and missed yoga.    So I'm not in the best of moods today.  I make all kinds of plans and insomnia ruins them.  Not that they're big plans but plans to cook, clean and take care of things.

Meh.....will go watch a movie with best friend later this afternoon.  At least I'm off.

I'm over my whining fit.  Decided to go to my great-nieces high school basketball game since their are coming to my side of the Bay.  I have zero interest but she's family.

To show I can cook Asian, I made this Mongolian tofu dish for dinner.  It came out good.

That looks delicious @Tweety

Tweety, That food looks GOOD! Please ship some to me here AT ONCE! I had Thai curry with vegetables and rice tonight. Nannie had beef pot roast (freezer>>microwave) and Momo has just finished her supper.

Today I threw away 83 wire coat hangers! So, if Joan Crawford's ghost ever visits me, she will not yell at or beat me for using them! We still have tons of other kinds of coat/clothes hangers that we aren't even using. I tried to give them to the thrift shop, but they said they don't accept them; they only use hangers that they have purchased specifically for the store. So I put them in the recycling bin.

I have been pretty good about going to bed by 1:30 AM. I would start trying for 1 AM, but my body and busy brain won't close down that early, so maybe I can try doing so 5-10 minutes earlier and see if I can manage that for a while. I think I have my 3-11 state-of-mind still ingrained in me: I would go to sleep by 2 AM and get up at 10 AM. Nowadays, if I wake up at 10 AM, I just roll over and close my eyes again. I really wouldn't mind getting up by 10 AM every day, but AT 10 AM, the waking-up part of me groans and says, "uh-uh, not yet." Maybe I should just go back to the 2 AM to 10 AM schedule. In fact I will set my alarm clock for tomorrow at 10 AM and just start the day with some self-discipline, and keep it up. Turning my light out at 2 AM sounds good to me!

I haven't accomplished much. I made dough for shortbread last night, but when I got it out this morning to bake, it was all crumbly, so Im just going to toss it. That seems like a shame to waste all the butter, but it just won't come together. Instead, I put ornaments on the tree, but keeping them high because Im sure the little dog is going to go after them. Also, did some cleaning in the bathroom.

Stars, good on ya for getting rid of hangers. I have to sneak them into the garbage so dh doesn't have a conniption. He is so weird about discarding stuff. He's been setting aside stuff for the goodwill/Value Village and some of it I take and toss. Nobody wants his old t-shirts full of holes, or worn out shoes.

Tweety, your food does indeed look good. As I said, I tend to overcook stir-fry. That, and dh expects several dishes for meal, like you might get at a Chinese restaurant, and I'm just not doing that. I figure one main dish and one starch, usually rice.

Gosh, Joe, I hope you can avoid Covid. I tend not to finish books I don't like.

Going to play trivia online tonight. We tied for first place last week.

Glad you liked my food Media.

When I moved to Florida someone told me not to use wire hangers because of the humidity.  In fact many people use some put a moisture absorber like "Damp Rid" in their closets.  Best friend does this but I don't.  I actually have a heating and air conditioning vent in my bedroom closet.

If I were retired a 2AM to 10AM schedule would probably be my style.  When I was off 12 weeks with my shoulder I was staying up to around 3AM.  It seems to be what I do.

I got a text to work overtime tomorrow with a $150 bonus and I said no.  I have to put me first.  LOL

On the way to my great-nieces ball game there was a traffic jam, so I got off the interstate and went to Trader Joe's and came home.

During commercials, I have run upstairs and taken down all the things from the walls of my soon-to-be ('new') bedroom. There were frilly, supposedly country-themed doo-dads with cloth, lace, ribbons, fake greenery, and the framed needle-work stuff, all very, VERY dusty! It felt really good to move those out of the room; It's all stuff that Nannie decorated with, but it ain't ME! Kind of inspired me to continue to clear it. But that means the front bedroom is going to have even more stuff stored and crammed in. I have GOT to lean on the woman who wants the single-bed box Spring and mattress, plus the bed-frame and dresser. Like, come and get 'em NOW before I call the Salavation (?) Armay. (It's a family pronunciation) If that woman would come to get the furniture she wants, I can put the pipe-case son-in-law built for hubby into the front bedroom to get it out of my way until step-dgt comes to pick it up. That's located right now in the spot where I plan on placing my Queen Anne desk.

Little at a time, it's happenin'. ?

There are many hiring companies that have this directly as there mission. The expense would be  to Nannie. Interview with references. Since you did  Home Health care you have experience, Call around for a caregiver at an agency you worked at.

Feed back into the home health community...It sounds like Nannie would respond to a familiar face/sound, Look at posting an advertisement at a local nursing college for paid helpers.

The payment for this would come from Nannie's social security monthly check. That incoming money will stop when Nannie dies. Why not use it for its's intended purpose?

Some are very sellable, some not. The framed-needle-work stuff can sell well. But you have to find a willing buyer. Do you have a local antique mall near you? you will get pennies on the dollar but, frankly they will be gone.

Sister-in-Law says she will help me sell some of the things on-line, because I am inept on the computer for those kinds of things, and she has done it before with her stuff. I am planning on selling off a lot of Nannie's ANGEL figurines. But the stuff I pulled out of the room I am moving into ..... none of it is in any condition to be sold, as it is all just pieces of stuff Nannie put together, and taken off the wall they don't look like much of anything. But the collection of angels? I am only going to keep two of them. Gawd only knows how many are here, but I can collect them from the rooms upstairs where Nannie never goes anymore, and she will never miss them. I'm going to place them all on the bigger sofa in the 'formal' livingroom (where no one ever sits) and see how many there are. Everyone 'collects' something! Her collections are angels and fake flowers.
