Good morning!
Joe, hope that you have a good day.
Stars sees a lot of businesses are taking off to Jan 5th or people getting time off until then. I definitely have used Gas X
Ado, those are some treasures you've found. My class ring got stolen in an apartment robbery just a few years after I graduated and I never got another one. I do have my pin from nursing school and a few other mementoes but most stuff past the age of 40.
I woke up at 5:30 AM and decided to get up but probably will take a nap. I'm off tomorrow and will get up early then and stay up. My surgical recovery is coming along and I generally feel good. Still having lower abdominal pain, especially on the right but it's probably just inflammation from the CO2 gas they used to blow me up and surgical pain. Hopefully runs its course, but it seems to be slow.
I called my sister again and she hasn't called me back. I think I'll text my father to tell her to call me. It's her usual to take her time calling me back but it seems like she's going through something.
Otherwise, I have a load of laundry going, will cook, read and stream shows on Apple and Netflix and relax.
Have a great day.
Overcast here as well. We are supposed to get big winds tonight.
I woke up yesterday feeling so dizzy. I was bracing myself on walls and furniture because which way was up? I went with Dh to take MiL to her chiropractor, mostly to keep peace. I told Dh I felt dizzy and his reply was "I get that too.” But I didn't fall down, I didn't throw up which were my 2 goals. It finally passed after lunch.
I made more cookies last night—chocolate with peppermint chips. The sons and grandsons like those.
I need to vacuum and dust, and wash clothes. I've lost a gift I hid away.
Im sorry you're having so much pain, Tweety. After a couple of days post op, I personally think applying heat helped the most, and a little pressure, like a rice bag.
My right eye checked out "REALLY GOOD!" and I have an appt for my left eye to get DE-cataractized 😉 on the 12th of January. It is almost time for CG to go home and almost time for me to give Nannie her supper and PM meds. I have nothing much to say that isn't the usual grousing, so Merry Eve on the eve before Christmas Eve.
Meant to say that there is a tech at the eye doc's office, who, to me, had a very strong resemblance to the guy who played "Joey" on FRIENDS. Well, the first time I saw him, I didn't say anything about it, but when this afternoon he said to me, "How are YOU doing?" which was always Joey's opening line when he met a new female..... I had to laugh and mention that not only did he look like Joey, but when he said that line.... I HAD TO say something. He said nobody has ever told him that he looks like Joey. Well, I don't understand why not, but the "How YOU doing?" really tipped it over for me!
That's funny about the Joey look-alike, Stars.
Twin B calls today "Christmas Adam" because Adam appeared before Eve.
Stepson brought fudge from a place he likes to stop at in Missouri. I made that toffee (thanks!). And now I have pecan tarts baking. More than enough sweets around here! Stepson packed sweaters to bring with him and it was 78 degrees today. We went to buy him some t-shirts and I found a couple more gifts to buy. We also got some stuff from the grocery store but didn't find fresh rosemary. I'll go to Walmart tomorrow. Pretty sure they'll have it.
I'm tired. Since I bought more gifts (4) I need to wrap them. I ordered a new tablecloth that is not Christmas-y at all but will, I think, look nice with my blue Fiestaware. I have some blue and silver ornaments left over from decorating my office door and might put them in a glass bowl as a centerpiece.
It's quite warm in the house after a long, warm, sunny day.
Oh, I used the image search on the lapel pin I thought was a service award from Tinker AFB and it was, but it was 30 years, not 40.
I have purchased no Christmas presents and no Christmas cards .... I have seen MANY things I would like to purchase as Christmas presents for people ....perfect presents for each individual! However, not having any purchasing power ($$$) at this time of year puts the kibosh on anything I might see that I'd like to buy,
Kritzmuss Eve. Well, afternoon, actually. So since it's 12:40 PM, I guess I ort to go do the Nannie-thing; get her up and dressed and fed and medicated. Then walk Tinker, Then try to keep my cool and not settle into the daily aggravation caused by you-know-who.
I am so celebratory, aren't I ? But I DO wish all of y'all a merry, happy Xmas Eve and Xmas Day. Then we just have to get through the New Year's holiday before we can settle down into 2026.... which will be hopefully a MUCH better year than '25.

Tweety that is annoying to be ghosted like that
Stars glad you got a break from her yesterday
Ado glad she was all right after all
Work was good yesterday, busy in the morning as I got stuff done before the meeting, but quieter afterwards. Had time to work ahead for today. After work was quiet, just exercised
Today have a side project to work on at work, should have plenty of time for that given that I worked ahead. After work will do the grocery shopping and stop at a local candy store. Also have a brief phone call with ASPCA, planning to volunteer with them a bit. It will be legislative stuff, not animal care
Going to be in the low 40s again, and will be most of this week
