Stars must be something dead nearby to attract such a crowd of them

Tweety understandable why you would be feeling irritable, with all of this going on

Ado I usually make muffins for the weekends

Hi NJ22

Dianah I hope it proves that she just has a UTI

Despite having been off on Friday, Monday was not bad at work.  Was rather quiet, although I know the quiet won't last.  Had some time to get the laundry done

And time to email with my cousin, we're looking at different dates for Milwaukee, she's going to look at renting vacation homes.  Still keeping my original plans in case this all falls through

Vet called, bloodwork fine but thyroid a bit elevated, wants me to track her med for a month to make sure she's not missing doses and get more bloodwork next month.

After work was calm, just exercised and relaxed

Did wake up early with what felt like a migraine, but was able to banish it with some acetaminophen.  If that was a migraine they've gotten rather weak, and much more rare than before

Today have grocery shopping after work and a meeting with the political group

Going to be a bit warmer today, mid 80s, hope the air quality is better

Good morning!

Joe, glad you didn't have a migraine.  Got up early for a 7:45 committee meeting.  Boring but it was only 45 minutes.

Going to mow the grass today.  My right knee felt much better today but as the day progressed the pain is still there.  I've picked out the ortho I want to use that's affiliated with my job, but not going there yet.

Still in contact with my PCP to see if she wants another course of abx, but I am feeling better today but Sheesh.

Joe, I read on-line in a story about TikTok (not on the TikTok thread; I am not a subscriber to that) which told that their newest "hack" for migraines is to go to Mickey D's and get a large coke and a large order of french-fries. Supposedly, consuming them makes the migraine better. There was sort of a semi-'scientific' explanation as to why that might work, but I can't remember it. So, I have to say "HAH!", not being a migraine sufferer. But I can't imagine that  someone with a very bad headache would actually want to eat and drink that much, even if it was a miracle cure. It wouldn't do any favors for keeping your weight down if you had a lot of migraines! I seem to remember someone who had migraines told me they had to lay very, VERY still in a dark, quiet room because sometimes it is accompanied by N + V.  I imagine that vomiting would put more pressure on a person's head and make one feel worse!! (So much for TikTok.)

It is a rainy day in the low 70's. Tinker and I went outside after I was dressed, I had to use an umbrella. We walked halfway down the driveway before she turned around and led me back to the front door to go back inside. Editorial comment from a dog: "Nope, don't think so!"

I'm going to have to get up from the sofa where Tinker and I have been dozing while Nannie, bless her heart, is sleeping with her mouth hanging open. When she lets out a little snore, Tinker looks out the glass door, thinking there is something there, and she does some quiet growling. It takes a few times of vocally discouraging her from doing so. But I DO have to get up and strip the bed and put my other laundry in the washer. Mighty well get up and do it, or I will be grousing again about not having time to do anything for ME!

It is likely that I will be back later on, so stay tuned.

Heard from my doc who re-ordered specimens since I was still having symptoms which was easily obtained and off to work where the lab is.  Results trickled in and she's going to try a different antibiotic since I still have the infection.  She sent it to the work pharmacy so back to work the for third time.  I can ask her or the pharmacy to send it closer to home but it's only ten minutes away and being the boomer I am, I don't want to be a pest.

Also at doc's request, I made an appointment with GI that I can cancel if I get better and the earliest I could get was the 29th.  I have the doc on my phone and he told me I could text him any time and he'd get me in, but again, being the boomer I am, I don't want to be a pest and I'm manifesting being better soon.

Anyway, watched some TV and mowed the grass.  It rained some but not enough to make me stop mowing so I got that done.  I have to decide if I want to go to yoga or not.  I think the one class I went to on Tuesday aggravated my knee so I may go to another class.  It's still hot but doesn't have the same poses that will stress my knee.

It's so much fun being old with aches and pains and bowel issues.  You know?  LOL

Best friend is waiting for electrical work to get does at his condo and they apparently were a no show yesterday and no news today.  The work ethics around here is just absolutely stunning.  One this work is done he can get his contractor in there to pain, put down flooring, do the bathrooms etc.  but it can proceed until the electricians are done.  Unbelievable.

My reading tells me that construction demands are high in Florida but that work completion is slow because of a variety of factors.  That has got to be frustrating.  In my neck of the woods it can be challenging to even find a licensed contractor who isn't booked out far into the future.

As I generally expected, there was one muffin left when I got home last night. Everyone liked them, though Hubs says he would prefer "just banana" -- forget the blueberries. Funny, because I was thinking of doing it again using some frozen mixed berries.

Tweety, are you feeling ill, other than the ... um ... obvious problem?  Of course you know to stay hydrated and be conscious of electrolytes.

I am having an extremely difficult time focusing on the things I need to do. Does age/menopause aggravate ADHD symptoms? I really suspect I've had that problem all my life but never been diagnosed. Or it could be worse and be the start of cognitive decline. The guys were talking about having a family movie night the other night and I said I still hadn't seen Oppenheimer. They said that I had -- we all watched it together. I don't remember. They seem less worried about me forgetting that (it's a long movie; likely I did fall asleep) but they do  think I have an obsessive desire to sleep. I don't know. All I know is that I'm struggling to get things done. Yes, I met my deadlines the last couple of weeks, but other things are still hanging out there. Bleah!

My book club's next selection is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. I'm fairly certain I read it, but it has been a few years. I've checked out the audio book so I can try listening to a book at bedtime instead of reading an e-book on my phone, since the light irritates Hubs. I'll use my earbuds and maybe he can let me "read" in peace.

I just read a synopsis of Oppenheimer, and I do remember watching it though I remember few details.

No, thankfully I am eating, working and generally going about business as usual as long as I can be near a bathroom.

I sometimes feel unfocused and forgetful these days but I say it's because I have a lot on my mind.  LOL

Yes, demand was fueled by hurricane losses but an overall growth the population and economy here.  Guess they can treat us any which way because there's so much work.  But it's really rude and unethical to be a no call, no show.  They said they would be finished with the project back in May and then changed it to mid-July.  They have one job left and can't seem to do that.

I did read The Curious Incident, et.al, some years ago, and don't really remember if I liked it or not, but I liked the title, which is why I picked it up in the first place.

I'm not wild about muffins ( 🎶and muffin's aren't wild about me?) SiL makes some every so often, I think mostly when she has her grand-dgt with her and it helps keep her happily busy to help her Nanna (I think that's what she calls her) She delivers some to us, and every so often I will try one, but feel pretty 'meh' about them. Sorry to admit this, but I've thrown out a number of muffins in my long life. (tsk-tsk!)

It's 5:30 and Nannie is starting to stir and wake up. Oh bumbershoots! < I guess that will not be called a curse word by TOS, but that's exactly what *I* meant by it! 😇 I know that's what they call an ☂️ in England, but my family always referred to them as 'Ummbriollas'.

My laundry is almost through drying. I'll make up my bed once it is done, then throw all of Nannie's 'wetnesses' in the washer.😩 OY!

And, oh gosh, I have to whip up something EASY to give to Nannie for her supper. Feh!

Well, yes, I do have a lot on my mind!

I'm putting together a storyboard on isolation precautions. Apparently "enteric" or "contact-plus" has fallen out of favor and the CDC says that using hand sanitizer is sufficient for patients with C. diff as long as we're not having an outbreak. They still acknowledge the spore-producing bacteria. I think I'd still like to encourage handwashing with soap and water. And bleach for environmental cleaning.

Then there's the question of patients colonized with various MDROs in their urine. This is one the nurses here will ignore if I don't make a point of placing them on contact.

Arts-and-charts is really not my thing. But I'm trying. 🙂

There is a big music and comedy festival in Seattle every Labor Day weekend that is called Bumpershoot. I suppose that is an homage to Seattle rainy weather, although the weather is always nice and only tourists and newbies use umbrellas. We've gone a couple of times, and saw REM there.
blah day. I thought youngest son and I were going bike riding, but the pick up is full of wood chips. I am going to get a tow hitch attached to my car in 2 weeks so I can use the bike rack.

I took the dogs for a walk. Did some garden stuff, and fell asleep after lunch. I should help Dh unload wood chips, but I'm feeling incredibly lazy.
