Hi Tweety

NJ22 hopefully they can repair the damage in time for the fundraiser

Dianah that does sound interesting, although a lot of work

Work was fairly quiet yesterday despite someone being off

The doctor's appointment went well, weight within 1lb of last time and BP a bit lower still

Am feeling a tad nervous we decided it's time for me to plan on scheduling a colonoscopy.  I've never had any sort of anesthesia or sedation, so I wonder how I'll react. Will I talk or act in some bizarre fashion? Will I experience any sort of hallucination?  Having never had narcotics before makes me cautious, though I'm pretty sure my fears are overblown

J is experiencing sinusitis again, probably related to some sort of seasonal allergy.  Hopefully this is short lived

Nothing unusual going on today.  Going to try some more knitting, although I'm finding my interest decreasing, so we'll see how long I stick with this

Will  be in the 70s today, so it should be nice

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.  Sorry to hear about J not feeling good.  Glad your office visit went well.

My first anesthesia was my screening colonoscopy as well.  I was more nervous about nausea and vomiting than anything.  I did good and went out to eat after.  There was a poster here, I don't remember his name other than his real name is Don, who found asymptomatic colon cancer on his screening so it's important.  I say this but I delayed mine until age 55.

J22, I heard on NPR about that rain in Death Valley.  Hard to believe what I consider a small amount of rain would cause such havoc.

Dianah, the class sounds interesting but definitely one for the retired and dedicated person.  LOL

I met SlowBro's ophthalmologist for the first time in two years.  Other than "how are you?" he was all business, no personality, but that's okay.  He's not confident in any long term management of his glaucoma as the pressures are higher and near the max.  He increased the frequency of one of his drops and we'll keep an eye on things.

I finally tested negative for covid yesterday after testing positive on Saturday.  I wanted to feel comfortable at the vet and want to go to yoga today, even though I know the time of being contagious has passed, plus I was curious.

Hmmm, I thought I posted yesterday, but I didn't. I don't remember anything remarkable about the day, but at one point I thought I could post the word "Boring," for about four of five lines, but decided against it. Boring is not necessarily bad, just, um, well, ...boring!

Nanny is a sleeping machine, she has been really out like a light after meals. She'll force herself to stay awake tonight, I guess, because she LOVES our TV. Last night she decided to go to bed at 8:30-ish, which shocked me, but then again, there was no baseball or game show (she likes Steve Harvey on that Family Feud game show is he hosts).

Braves will be playing and America's Got Talent is on; the AGT is in the elimination process. There really were so many exceptionally talented people on this season, I don't know how it will all turn out.

I dreamed the other night that we had coooool temps (73) and gray skies and an occ. light drizzle. I really felt good that the weather had cooled down. Then I woke up to the same ol' 90's+ and humidity. But, time is just clicking on day-by-day and soon I will be c/o having to bundle up. Ppfftt.

Joe, The anesthesia should make you quiet and compliant. Then before you know it, it'll be over and they will tell you to let the gas out (ie fart at will), and you'll wish they had just let you continue to sleep. They should also ask you if you want something to drink +/or eat. In other words, the prep is the worst part.

Okie dokie, I can't think of anything interesting to add---

Later!

Hi. What a day, and its only half over. Drove down to Seattle for my echo this morning, which was done a little late. Apparently the little old lady before me put up a fuss and took longer than expected. I heard her telling her dtr in the waiting room, "it was awful, you could hear your heart beat." Okay. Whilst I was waiting I got a message that the pacer doc wants to do my pacer upgrade on Sept 1. Which is good, but my head is spinning with the timing. And then I got a message from a neighbor saying my car parked on the street was hit. And from the picture he sent, it sure was! pushed it off the street and into the garden across the road! So I called youngest ds, he spoke to the police. The responsible driver was injured enough to go to ED, and of course, uninsured. The car is definitely totaled, but still it was an extra set of wheels.

Argh, and I just got back from running to the hospital to pick up Sis from her cardioversion, that was done 2 hours sooner that I had planned. And then she wanted to go to the pharmacy because she lost her refills last Friday. And they didn't have them. Sigh. But she feels 110% better. And 2 very nice people called to go over pre-op instructions. This day will soon be over!

Gosh, j22, when it rains, it pours! Sorry about your poor car! I know you can't, but I would be very tempted to turn my phone off and hide it at the bottom of a pile of laundry!

Nannie is awake, now that the 6 o'clock new is on. Because there is a new or alternate person doing the weather report tonight, she is worried and questioning if something is "wrong" with the regular guys who are "always there". Maybe someone is on vacation, or sick, or quit, or was fired or died (doubtful!) You'd think if I said it once, that would be sufficient, but every time I said, "I DON'T KNOW!" ....she questioned me about them again ....and then again. OY!

Well, I sure blathered on earlier. The day has smoothed out.

Joe, the anesthesia for colonoscopy is better than it used to be. If they use propofol (you can ask) its pretty much instant on, instant off. Meaning they inject, you go to sleep instantly, and then wake up in recovery and they say your ride is here. I have never been offered drink or food post colonoscopy. They just wanted me OUT!  For my first one I got a boat load of versed/fentanyl and was pretty snockered. Last year, I went home, had dinner and took the dog for a nice walk. No nausea, no vomiting, no bad dreams.

Tweety glad you are testing negative. When I took my old dog to a vet ophthalm. she was pretty businesslike. I did like that she was concerned for my dog's comfort and was liberal with pain RX (tramadol).

Well, Nannie, the usual weather guy won the lottery, so he left for a world wide cruise, LOL.

Hello all!

Oooooo, nursej22, how awful that your car was hit so hard!!  Or that it was hit at ALL!!  Yah, one more thing...  smh.  Good your sis feels so much better after the cardioversion.  Hope she got her meds.  I guess that's why ppl opt for an ablation, if they are prone to being in afib and feel so very poorly when they are in afib.  Wow, good you got your pacer scheduled!!

No Stars, temperature of 73 would be MAH-velous!!  It was 101 when I was out doing errands.  ?  I was surely glad to get home and cooled down!

Tweety, good that SlowBro is stable.  Hmmm, opthalm. vet has no personality?  At least, he displayed none when you were there.  Can't fault him for taking care of business, efficiently!

I drove a lot today, checking out two PetSmart stores (located about 15 min apart), for THE canned cat food (we refer to it as Cat Fud) the cats will all eat.  I finally found a case of it and bought that, then went shopping for a few groceries.  We have lots of leftovers so I won't make "crack slaw" yet.  The grocery store is right next to a Thai restaurant, and the smells coming from that place were heavenly!  Doesn't help that it was lunch time, and I was hungry!  I hurried home to my raw veggies, cheese, and crackers.  Will enjoy leftovers for dinner.

Dh and I just practiced a little: him playing bass, me on guitar.  We've found it's good to keep our chops up.  Sunday's gigs were OK, but we felt kinda ragged ------ not as "together" as we'd like to be.  Of course, as a band, we have not played together much lately.  AND it was HOT and HUMID.  We will practice on Sunday, for a program in late August, at a nearby church.

Have a good evening!

Nannie came out of the bathroom, struggling to get her pink wrap around her shoulders, and I went to help so she wouldn't get more gommed up than she already was; then I see two smears of BM she was trying to hide. I told her she had poop on her wrap. At first she said she knew that. Then she said she didn't know HOW it got there and it wasn't hers! Well, it was dry, one spot was thick, and the other was a smear. I don't know how long it had been there. Guess I'm going to have to take it from her tomorrow, and also inspect the rest of her clothing, not to mention her behind and her hands. I figure I'll have to give her a bath at her sink. (The bathtub in her bathroom is nonfunctional and even if it worked, she couldn't get in or out over the side of the tub)

Ain't we got fun? Oh brother!

Stars, I hope you can get Nannie to clean up and change.  You wouldn't want to be accused or investigated by the state should EMS or someone find her in an unkempt condition, wearing her own feces.  They would blame the caretakers and you'd be on the defensive.  I'm sure they'd believe you but that would be a hassle.

My thoughts exactly!
