Tweety glad your parents are doing well

Stars sounds like the weather we had last week

NJ22 thanks for sharing the photo

TMB I sometimes will  post on my phone but it's awkward

Ado I hope she's calmer today

Yesterday at work was calm, until mid day,  when I got a new case, and then found out the patient who needed home care wasn't getting it from the new agency.  Which required a bunch of calls and emails.  Thankfully by the end of the day it looked like the agency was addressing the concerns.  Hopefully by today they will have things straightened out

I was glad that I managed to stay reasonably calm and not engage in stress eating or get very inpatient and angry with the situation.  I'm realizing that just causes me more suffering.  I did have to work through lunch but only had to say a few minutes late

After work was calm, ran an errand, exercised, and took it easy

Today hoping work will be better than yesterday.  Should be calm after work too. Hoping my cousin will get back to me soon regarding my vacations ideas

Will be a bit warmer today, in the mid 80s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a more calm day.

I too have been trying not to react to work stress and just get it done.  I have to deal with things thrown at me but stressing about it doesn't help.  I do need to not stress eat sweets that people bring in though because I eat too much.

Insomnia got to me last night.  Struggled at around 3:30 and finally got up at 5AM.  Did a few things and fell back asleep about 8AM for an hour.  Don't want to ruin tonight's sleep by sleeping too much.

I would have to leave for yoga in 10 minutes, but going to have a coffee and continue with some meal prep and housework.  I just don't have the energy to rush to yoga.

Going with best friend to see Barbie in the theaters.  I hears it's a good fun movie.

Hello all!

Barbie movie has been getting a lot of hype and press, hope you and George enjoy it, Tweety!

Good on ya, Joe, keeping your cool while under stress.  Seems to help both you and the situation (removes a lot of the drama).  Hope today is better.

No Stars, I hope you got your books exchanged (read for un-read).  Gypsies behaving themselves?

Love the photos, nursej22!  I took the Duck Tour years ago, when in town for a conference.  Boston is very interesting!

Had a couple low-sleep nights, but last night was a good one, for which I am grateful!  Today we are going to a local jam.  These folks (we know them all, most came up to the mountains to jam with us) meet once a week, usually in the high desert, and it's invitation-only.  They rotate the site and today's jam is near us, so as we were invited to this one, we're going!  Dh is getting all the cat-care done, then we'll get ready and go.  Friday is band practice.

We had a little smattering of rain yesterday, and supposed to get same today, then it should clear up.  Temps are in the 90's rather than in the 100's, for which we are thankful!  My friend and I plan on walking tomorrow, late in the afternoon.  Just get ready to sweat!

Dh noticed his laptop battery is swollen; checked mine and it is the same.  They are three years old.  He dug up an extended warranty we'd purchased for them, and it is still viable.  He made a call yesterday and they are sending out mailing boxes for the puters, and they will then replace the batteries and return the puters to us.  He thinks he will send one at a time, rather than being without both for probably a month. !!  a month!  It's gotta be done, though.  They are HP (dh is an Android guy, not Mac).

Had three cherry tomatoes yesterday, yay!  The bell peppers are almost ripe.  And, it's almost time to harvest more basil.

More another time.  Y'all have a good day!

Uh-oh, I never heard of laptops batteries swelling. This sounds dumb, but ....how can you tell? Does the bottom bulge out or something?

Nah, I doubt I'll go trade the books today. I am trying to be 'good' by attacking the messy heap of clothes and paper, books and magazines, that "somehow" ?  collect on the floor in front of the closet. I really need a dresser (bureau/chest of drawers) but there is no room in this small room for any other furniture. So periodically I find I am overwhelmed by my "I'll-just- toss-this-on-the-floor" habit, and must clear it up before it gets MORE out of hand!

Now, instead of dawdling on the lap-top, I will get 'er done---or at least some of it!

PS: I think the eraser end of a pencil would be handy in typing out a message on the phone. But who has many pencils around, except maybe Davey-Do?

I dood it, I dood it! (like a character of Red Skelton's used to say) I hung up the piles of folded, clean clothes, and put dirty clothes in the hamper; I got rid of TONS of already-read magazines and catalogs. I have started collecting too-big-for-me-now ? clothes to give to the 2nd-hand shop when I go drop off the books. Rumor has it that there is a floor in my room!

I also have 3 frozen Stouffer's dinners to feed the 'inmates' here.

The ballgame is on at 7:20 PM. Hubby does not like the LA Angels team, so he probably won't watch it. Weds, Thurs, and Fri this week, the Braves also play the CUBS, the team to which our favorite short-stop went, Dansby Swanson , as a free-agent.  Hubby used to refer to him as "pretty boy" but he stopped saying that once he noticed how well Swanson played short-stop; sometimes he was spectacular in that position. But, we'll probably never get him back on the Braves. Oh well. it will be good to see him, anyway.

Tawk  whichoo laydah!

Hi. My feet hurt. If my phone is accurate, I walked 19262 steps yesterday (~7 miles), and 9000 or so today. We did the Boston Tea Party tour today, and visited the USS Constitution. I am so grateful for tour bus drivers getting through Boston traffic. The weather was a little cooler today, plus, I didn't feel trapped by large crowds of people. We had pizza last night that was meh, BBQ for lunch that was good, and tonight we're going somewhere that has lobstah rolls and chowdah. I haven't been sleeping great, my neck misses my pillow. I think I'll wait until the Barbie movie is on a streaming venue.

Flying home tomorrow afternoon.

A t-shirt I saw that made me giggle: "I used to be poor when I was young so I worked hard and now I am no longer young."

Just got home from the jam.  We played from 12-2, then took a break for a couple pieces of pizza and ice cream and strawberries, then played from 2:30-4:30.  Then we all went out for Mexican food, and visiting!  It was a good jam, and nice to meet up with these folks.  Hopefully I will sleep well tonight (one works hard jamming, yanno!).

Congrats to you, No Stars, for getting your space cleaned up!  Our friends who hosted the jam are BIG, BIG Dodgers fans!  BIG!!!  Hope you enjoy tonight's game.

nursej22, woo-hoo! for all the steps!  Isn't it nice to let someone else drive in an unknown area?  Sorry you haven't been sleeping well.  Safe travels home tomorrow.

Have a good evening!

J22, walking around Boston left me with achy feet last fall! And tendinitis that still hasn't settled down. I should have worn better walking shoes. But there were interesting things to see and so much more I would have liked to.

By the way, when Hubs told Gma that she is almost 93 years old she vehemently denied it. He said "OK, how old do you think you are?"

45, she said. But a minute later decided she's 18. So there.

Overslept today but still participated in a webinar on legal and risk management issues in the ED. Sometimes I think there is some magical thinking going on in the minds of the powers that be. Just have the right protocols in place and patients won't go from being calm to assaulting staff in 2 milliseconds.
