Tweety hope you sleep better tonight

Stars I tend to agree, it's likely part of the grieving process, it kind of comes and goes and waxes and wanes before it begins to fade

NJ22 I think that's a good idea, I use my local library pretty extensively

Hi Ado and Dianah

Initially I was afraid work was going to be crazy, but it turned out not to be as bad as I thought.  After work went to the doctor's appointment and was relieved that I had only gained 10lb since the last appointment.  I feared it might have been more, 10lb should be easy to lose.  Ran some errands after the appointment and spent some time checking out some potential new Meetup groups

Today after work the gay group is getting together at another local restaurant.  Hoping work itself won't proved too difficult, despite having someone off

Will be a bit cooler today, in the low 60s

Yeh, I'm up and dressed and have done the same for Nannie. It is exceptionally BRIGHT out there, just in case anyone was wondering. I did get up earlier to feed Momo and pray she did her biznezz in the proper place. Then I slept for another hour and 1/2. I feel like my body is muffled, like covered with bubble-wrap head to toe. Interesting that I have usually felt that way when I have had an alcoholic drink, but that's not the case this morning. It's just another somber day for me. Nothing planned, but as my psychologist used to tell me: "Feel your feelings." So I am doing that, because I don't have too much of a choice right now.

I guess SiL will be here after she gets off work (3:30-ish). Don't have much else to say.

Forgot I DO have several loads of laundry to do. Whoopie!

Argle bargle. I thought this would be a great day, but it took a left turn when I checked the mail and got notice that I owe the IRS a penalty for failing to pay taxes. I paid our taxes at the end of March, at least, that's what my bank statement says. I called them, waited on hold for ~ an hour, and shortly after getting a live person, the call dropped. Do I call back, do I make an appointment at the local office, do I eat something sweet and greasy like a donut? Decisions, decisions. A least with a smart phone, I can just put in my ear buds and walk around as I wait, but I want this to go away!

I had a nice run in the park this morning. I was going to plant up a couple of big planters but I want to be close to my paperwork if I get a live person again. I know the dogs want to go for a walk as they are staring out the front window at the occasional person walking on the sidewalk. We could use a few items from the grocery store.

Online trivia is tonight. Otherwise I don't have much planned. I have been following the NY trial on Twitter.

I know some people have pet peeves about customer service people answering requests or thank yous with "no problem". Other people get irritated with people holding doors open, saying "ya know" repeatedly, or just a lot of slang in general.

My new pet peeve is being asked what fun thing do I have planned for the rest of the day. If I say I don't have any fun planned, then I am an old grouch. I invent something, then I am untruthful.

3:20....Sil just came by and said she was going to take Nannie to her house and would bring her back after supper, along with a strawberry shortcake for me. Then she said I looked like I needed a hug, so I let her hug me. It didn't make me feel better, but it made her feel better, and I do appreciate the things she does for me and Nannie. When she came in I was wrestling with getting all the wastebaskets empty and doing the laundry.

Guess I'll drive over to Harris-Teeter since it is rush-hour and school-bus time. I need to get those Blood-Orange Ginger chews, and stock back up on coffee. The laundry will be ready for the dryer when I get back.

I thought I was the only one who was irritated with a reply of "no problem". Sometimes I will reply back, "this was never a problem". Sometimes, usually I keep silent. My other 'pet peeve' is when people say "let me do this real quick'. Taking your time to correct a mistake, complete an (important) task, etc. should not be "real quick". I guess I am getting crotchety by the year.  (Although when I was teaching nursing students the "let me get this done real quick" received a rebuttal from me that completing your important task an RN  should deserve the time and effort to spend your time on it, )

I often answer a thank you with "no worries" instead of your welcome.  Also around here I notice mostly Gen Z answering a thank you with a "of course".

I have pet peeves but that's not one.
