Good morning!
Stars, OMG...glad you were okay. Maybe teach your husband how to help you in the future? But hopefully it won't ever happen again.
Joe, glad your quarantine is over and you're doing well.
Rose, too bad about FB jail. Lesson learned. LOL
Dianah, those are great pictures. Glad you had a good time.
I'm happy my neighbor is building a new fence. We shared a chain linked fence and it was rusting and some bushes had messed it up. One of my next projects was to take it down and get a new one. He put up a privacy fence and now doesn't have to look at my dead back yard and I don't have to worry about the old fence.
We won 2 games in bowling last night and remain in 2nd place. We've been in 2nd place about six weeks now. Next week is the last week and if we're defeated the lowest we can fall is 3rd place. There is a chance we move up to first place, but we're playing the first place team and they are in first place because they are really good. We've bowled them before and they bowl well under pressure. They were the first place team last season.
Did laundry and mopping. Yoga class this morning soon. Been up since 4:45. Just could not sleep. Going to stay up and go to bed early tonight.
so... Hey, everyone!
Joe, so sorry you've had the 'rona and glad you are feeling better.
Loved the dapper photos!
Tweety, Elton John!! I never got to see him but would have loved it.
Especially the piano men tour he did with Billy Joel.
My week in Arizona was great, albeit inconvenienced by what I can only describe as a severe spell of ADHD. Left my laptop and conference hand-outs at home (and since I'm too lazy to type much on my phone, I didn't post here). Lost a new phone charger. Left my phone in the restroom at the visitor center of one of the tourist spots we visited and had to go back 50 miles to get it the next morning. Fortunately, someone turned it in to the visitor center with my bank card, credit card, and the little bit of cash that I had intact. Ugh.
On the bright side, the conference was good and I learned some things and met some people who will be helpful. I had a great time visiting with my college friends who took me to see the Grand Canyon and Winslow (stood on the corner near a flat-bed Ford and a statue of Jackson Browne) and the petrified forest. We talked about how we can't believe we're nearly 60 and when our parents were that age (when we were in our 20s) we thought that was so old. Seriously, I feel as if just last week I was 40 and the week before that I was 25. What happened??
Stepson is flying in today for a visit. Hubs, Twin B, and Gma have all been down with some GI symptoms that have been kind of on/off for several days. Need to fumigate before stepson gets here!
Playing catch-up at work. Hope you all have a good day.
Didn't I tell you that our weather is schizo here? Today there are blue skies and sunshine in the back yard in the North and West, and deep steel-blue clouds with heavy thunder in the front yard in the East and South.
No more choking, and I did not aspirate anything deeply. I was actually worried, while self-Heimliching, that I might have aspirated enough to cause pneumonia if I didn't get everything cleared. But, like I said, all's well that ends well, and I learned my lesson not to eat a lot and then lie down! And yes, I intend to teach hubby how to Heimlich, just-in-case!
Joe, glad to hear you are feeling better and get to go out in public now.
Tweety, I guess your new bowling-ball is working okay? Second place is good, especially considering you've had several last-place seasons. The day before yesterday I did 5 loads of laundry; bet you don't have near as much laundry to do for just yourself!
Ado, Sorry to hear about your very ADHD day, and the 50-mile backtracking; but at least you got all your important stuff back! //As far as aging, I second the motion! Time flies even when you aren't paying attention. I have always said to my patients that "the reason you are still alive is that you wake up BREATHING every morning." I cannot even believe I am 72, and will be 73 in three months! I still feel like I am in my early 40's...but I feel that in my HEAD, not in my body! If I tried to do things now that I did then, I'd be paying for it in aches and pains!
Will probably comeback by here later. Right now hubby and I are sitting out on the front porch reminiscing----
Stars, I am glad you are okay! That must have been scary. Our weather is unsettled too, sun breaks, dark clouds, then more sun. thunderstorms are predicted, but they usually happen over the mountains.
Wow, Tweety, second place is not too shabby. It would seem that the new ball is suiting you well. That is convenient that your neighbor replaced the fence. We have a cyclone fence at our back property, and I wouldn't mind a privacy fence. The house has had various renters and the current ones are, shall we say, not as fastidious about their yard as previous tenants.
Joe, hurray for being busted out of stir! don't over do, now that you are free. A library trip sounds perfect.
Dianah, those pictures were beautiful! It almost makes me want to Disney. Almost. There have been a ton of changes since I was there last, about 10 years ago, and I would probably get lost. You two looked dapper, indeed.
AdoAnnie, that sounds like the kind of trip I would have. I have left my phone in a taxi twice. Once was on the way to the New Orleans airport. I was able to reach the taxi company by phone and they mailed my phone to me! The other time was in Washington DC. the cab brought it to me, but I had to pay for the extra fare, LOL. I loved the song reference, by the way. Take it easy...
I had a massage this morning to address the ongoing leg/sacral pain I've been having. I don't think the massage therapist and I connected very well. There was a fan or air filter running in the room, plus some weird, new age-y music playing, and then she was talking to me in this sort of faint, wispy voice, through a mask. I finally had to ask her to either speak up or turn off the music. At the end of the session she smiled and said "How do you feel now?" Well, I was honest, and said there was no change, and I think I hurt her feelings. I will give it one more go, I guess. I just came inside from weeding around my blueberry bushes, and now my hip really hurts. I think I'll kick back and watch a new program on Hulu.
Cheers
nursej22, ugh, too bad about your massage experience. I have some hearing loss, and when ppl don't speak up OR if the music is just too loud, it is irritating! And I say, good you were honest about how you felt after the massage. Rest your hip! Yah, Disneyland is constantly changing... I guess so folks won't get bored with same-old/same-old. But I kinda liked some of the "old" stuff. Am not into some of the new themes. Enough of it is OK, though, so dh and I enjoy it. And Dapper Day is ALWAYS fun! If ppl ask about going, I would recommend at LEAST two days (one at each park), possibly three or four. I know, it's kind of OVERLOAD, but at least you're not trying to squeeze in everything you want to see and do, to one day. There's too much to see.
Hi Ado, welcome back. I left my wallet in an airport in Japan in Tokyo. It's so large I had to take a shuttle and back track and found it just as a maintenance person was wrapping it up and going to turn it in. I've left my phone in the bathroom at work about a dozen times because I have it in my hand and always stop by the bathroom on the way to work. Good samaritans have turned it in many times.
Stars, glad there were no residuals from your incident.
J22, sorry the massage didn't seem to help. Maybe results might be felt later instead of just after. I had mixed results with massage for my neck pain a few years back.
Stars, the bowling ball doesn't seem any worse or better than the one I had, but I seem to be getting the hang of things. Yes, I'll take second place considering the exact same team I have now was in last last 14 consecutive weeks and ended up in last place. One reason is two guys on the team greatly improved from last season. Last season they were coming back after taking a couple of years off and this season got their grove. The other guy and myself are about the same as we ever were.
An acquaintance of mine is in the hospital. He was having chest pains and turns out he needed stents for nearly clogged arteries. His BP was sky high as well. He's happy they found it and he has a second chance. He's a very in shape tennis player and participates in tennis tournaments and leagues around the state and country so he's shocked. I want to scream that you can't out exercise a bad diet but he'll chalk it up to genetics and take pills. It's not my place has he's just an acquaintance.
I was very productive and got a lot done.
