Did you transfer any credits from that college to the one you are at now? If you did then you would need to get a letter from the dean of that nursing program there stating that you left on good terms, and is still eligible for admissions at that school. On the other hand if you didn't transfer any credits to the school you are currently at now, then I wouldn't worry about obtaining a letter. I had an exact situation.

I haven't actually applied to the college yet. I was planning on doing it in January. However, I am sure that most of my general education credits will transfer over. I am not going to transfer my nursing credits because I want to start from the beginning and get a refresher on the basics.
So if you transfer your gen ed classes, you will need that letter. All of the classes you have taken even the nurses classes will be on your transcript. When the nursing admissions look at your transcript they will see that you took nursing classes somewhere else and didn't put that on your app or obtained a letter, which may jepordize you a spot for not putting accurate info on your app. Good luck with your nursing journey.
Thanks! I figured I would need the letter. The issue is trying to obtain the letter. The previous school is 4 hours away from house so I couldn't just drop by the campus and get the letter. I tried emailing my old advisor but she hasn't gotten back to me. Trying to figure out another way to get it.

I am currently taking prereqs and I will be applying for Spring 2014/Fall 2014 admissions. One of the schools that I want to apply to is requiring a letter of eligibility to return to nursing school if an applicant was enrolled in another nursing program. I was enrolled in a during program back in 2004 for two semesters but ended up dropping out because I was stressed out. Now I am ready to go back. The lowest grade I made was a C while I was there. Who should I talk to so I can get the letter? If I can't get it, should I disclose that I attended the program? I don't want to get in trouble if the school finds out that I was in a program already and didn't let them know.
