Trying to get into Bowie State nursing program.

Published

I'm a pre-nursing student right now and I plan on transferring to Bowie State and I really want to get into their nursing program, but i only have a 3.3. Anybody know my chances of getting in with that low of a GPA? and how difficult the program is and experiences?

Thanks for the advice I certainly will keep you updated I hope we both get in I hear it's a good program I worked with a CRNA who said he got his BSN from Bowie and was satisfied with the program back then . Who was the teacher you took for the online pre calc ?

His name is Malik Mbodge. He is a really nice guy, good luck.

what were your science and math grades Hannahj

Do u know if they only look at maths and science grades at Bowie or does the overall matter ?

They look at the sciences first, then the overall gpa if the student has similar math or science grades. Does anybody know how many students they accept each fall or any other nursing programs around maryland that does not require the teas. I dont want to take the teas right now because i dont have enough time to study for the test because I have some personal things I am taking care of.

I know Coppin in Baltimore excepts like 65-80 every fall I believe but they have an entrance exam called HESi A2 . I think Bowie is the only school who doesn't have an entrance test and that makes them soooo much more competitive when people hear that . I hope I get in for 2016 because I'm tryin to avoid teas as well the national average on that exam is 64% nationwide , that's frightening . But mr dovale did advise me that some form of an entrance test is coming soon , HESi or teas .. They haven't decided yet

Hannah you're saying you got into Bowie with a low gpa ? They denied me twice due to not having all courses done but I've heard some ppl got in with courses left to take so idk about their real process year to year

Did you retake the teas yet and how did you do.

Were either of you guys able to get in? I am almost finished my prerequisites and planning to apply next year so any advice would be helpful thank you!
