I never got my package from truman, does anybody knows what uniforms are going to be used this year? And what color? And where can we get it? I have the old Truman iniform, but I heard it is not going to be the same one anymore.
I went to the uniform place on Elston and the people that work there told me they are going to be at our orientation on the 15th and fit us and we order the uniforms then. This was, of course, after the nursing department told me to go over there and get it. I trust the people at the store though...one of the women that works there told me that she is personally going to be at our orientation. Hope this helps.
Ruby,
If you never got your package from Truman, then you have a lot to get done in one week. You need a load of medical tests, you need one background check, and various other things.

Thank you nurseollie, but I am a returning student and have most of the stuff compleated from last year and compleated the rest already, It is just the uniforms I am not sure what is it going to be this year. we (the returning students) havent gotten a package or email about the orientation yet. I will be calling the office on monday for an update. Thanks again
Hey everyone! I know there has been some confusion about whether or not we should order our uniforms before orientation or not. It seems that we can do either, but they are recommending getting them earlier because I guess they take quite a while to order. Here is the email I received when I asked about it:
The information about uniform ordering was expected to be distributed at orientation. However, since the department received the information at an earlier date, we decided to give it to you. You may go directly to the vendor to order your uniform. We encourage you to order it as soon as possible because it may take 4-6 weeks.
Please let me know if you require additional information.
I was over at Truman today and turned in my medical and background check packet.
Hope this helps.
*** Ruby *** If you need the uniform info, then send me a private message on this bulletin board with your email address and I will send you the word doc.

Hi everyone. I will be moving from Texas to Chicago in October and I would like to apply at Truman for nursing. I have all my pre-reqs from a Texas college which I'm hoping will be transferable, I would like to ask you guys how difficult it is to get accepted? And how is the process? Thanks in advance and good luck to all of you ; )

I got accepted the first time I applied. I do have a 4.0 in all my pre-reqs and all my co-reqs. And I have taken advanced science classes and already have a bachelors degree. I don't think it's very difficult to get in if you do the work and get good grades. The only thing to keep in mind...they are now having a centralized program...where you apply to the City Colleges of Chicago and if you are accepted...they decide which program you enter (ie. Truman, Daley, Malcolm X). You will only get an invitation to one of the schools and if you accept that is where you go. If you decline, your seat will be given to someone else.
Thank you so much for your response Nursingstudent515 : ) and congrats on getting accepted!!! Is there an entrance exam you need to take besides all the pre-req classes? I also got 4.0 on my "ranking classes" here in TX and I was going to apply here for the spring 2012 but since we are moving I really hope my classes do transfer. Thanks in advance
