I had a patient today with a trop of 353 which was an improvement from the greater than 600 he had in the days before. I have never seen a trop this high and I was just wondering if anyone else has and what was the number?
Troponin levels are based on a calculation. therefore an 0.6ng/ml can be converted in three calculations and would pretty much be based on the weight of the patient in kg. So a 0.6ng/ml could also be approximately be 600. Sorry I don't have the calculations on hand. I know my spouse had a trop of Two thousand. I think there is a standard measurement.
Last year mine was at 1600. Felt like heartburn. Rushed me to the hospital and had every test they can do including a heart cath. Everything came back stellar. I'm a healthy guy, not overweight or anything. Still diagnosed with a heart attack but at follow up cardiologist appt, he told me he thinks it was myocarditis, which makes way more sense as I'd had COVID a couple weeks prior.
