Trinity Valley CC vs Navarro CC

I got into both Trinity Valley and Navarro ADN programs, for this fall.

Does anyone have an opinion which is the better choice. I'm getting mixed messages from students at Navarro.

I did look at the TBON NCLEX-RN pass rates for 2010 and TVCC was slightly higher. It looks like the drop rate is about the same, percentage wise, but TVCC lets a lot more people in (also more apply).

I'm 49 :eek: , so I only get one crack at this. I want to make the most informed choice possible.

I have all the pre-reqs for the UTA on-line RN to BSN bridge, so just wanted to get the most bang for my buck in the ADN program, so I can start working while I am finishing up the BSN.

Where are you from? I'm in the fall ADN class and we do the first year in Corsicana and the 2nd year in Waxahachie. That might help you decide if one is closer than the other.

I live closer to Waxahachie and I've done all of my prerequisites at that campus.

Otherwise, Kaufman is actually closer to me than Corsicana.

I just was wondering about the instructors and the program.

I know a couple of people that started last fall, at Corsicana, and they were pretty much "be afraid, be very afraid". :confused:

Just reading through the forums both seem to be respected.

If it doesn't matter to my potential employer, I guess it's six one way, half a dozen the other.

Yikes! PM me! What kinds of things were they warning about? I'm concerned because I haven't heard anything since letters went out. If you end up going to Navarro, maybe we can carpool. I live in Ovilla, which is right outside of Waxahachie.

I'll try to PM you. Don't panic yet. You know how stuff goes. One story is one way and the other story is the other way.

I do know one thing. I was told that the dropout rate was very, very high, at Navarro. When I asked Shumate she had a completely different story. Hmmmmm. :mad:

Sorry, I tried to PM you, but I'm too new so the system won't let me.

As I said don't panic. About half of the people I talk to say it's hard, but doable, and the instructors are very helpful. The other half say it's very hard and blah, blah about the instructors. :uhoh3:

I will definitely keep you in my contacts and let you know if I end up there. Second year in Waxahachie is sounding better and better.

Can you all post your updates from the application period? How many points and did you get in? I am applying to many schools this year just wanted to hear some feedback.
