Tri-C accelerated adn

Published

I was hoping someone could help me out about the Tri C accelerated adn program. Is it doable with kids? It is my understanding that it is a 1 year program? I do have all prereqs done...so for me it is a matter of scheduling. I just can't sit around and wait another year for Stark State's program. If anyone who has been through the curriculum, could you give me asn idea of what the week's schedule would be like if all you needed to take was the nursing courses....with all other classes done?

Thanks!

Nice! Good to hear. How much is it to park $.50? that's what it was at the branches. I need to print out directions before I leave work today.

Yea, I heard it is nice, and something about a "million dollar man" a dummy that we will use there. Did you buy your malpractice ins. yet? I plan on buying it tomorrow.

It is now $.75 to park and they got rid of the gates, so you need these little hang tag things. I am pretty sure you can log on to your 'My Tri-C' space and purchase them, so you might want to do that before you leave work. I am not sure where you purchase them at the Metro Campus.

I tried to buy , but I was told we can't purchase it until we are actually registered for classes, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow at the earliest. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet you this afternoon!

Hey, sorry we didn't get to meet yesterday! So what do you think? I was really depressed last night. I am super scared. It almost seems impossible! I did register (at 11:30 last night), and am doing my clinicals at Hillcrest, and labs on Mondays. Did it seem to you that the second (fall) semester will be a bit less stressful than summer? I got that impression and keep tellling myself if I can make it through the sumer, I will be in the groove, and can handle the rest of it. What are your thoughts on yesterday?!?!?!?!

P.S. - lived in NE Ohio nearly my entire adult life, but am so scared of driving (esp. on freeway) during blizzardy weather, and getting downtown on top of that. No, I am not an old lady (31), but I have slid all over the road way too many times. I never see Tri-C close b/c of weather.

Please, please, please don't be scared. She was fairly threatening...what with her 40% first-time fail rate, but I don't think it will be all that bad. Yes, the courses are going to be demanding and it will take up a HUGE amount of time, but you are right, if you can just get through this summer you will be fine. Every time I felt myself starting to get worked up I reminded myself that people do this all the time. You can succeed if you take the time to study and breathe. :)

I am surprisingly feeling really good about everything. I had read through most of the information on the ADN board, so she didn't say anything I hadn't already heard. I liked all the nursing staff that I met and I liked all the students as well. I got the distinct impression that folks were pairing up and looking for buddies...probably a survival instinct. :) I was happy to see that there were a lot of people I recognized there from my pre-req classes.

Yes, I did get the feeling that the fall will be easier. I think that allowing more time to get through the classes will make it substantially less-stressful.

I am also in labs on MOnday. Which section are you in? I registered for CRNs 51433 and 51885...the second batch on the grid. I also got my clinicals at Bedford. I was somewhat relieved to see that not that many people were scrambling for Bedford...I took it to mean there aren't that many people from the program around me and getting my desired clinical sites will be a breeze. :) I was amazed to see Parma fill up before midnight!

I was a bit disappointed to find that we will likely be needing to spend a lot of time at school during non-lecture/lab times. I was hoping I would be able to use Tuesday and Wednesday as study times. Hopefully I will get a good lottery number and will be able to get a testing time close to regular class times. :)

As far as snow...it is going to suck. It shouldn't be too too terrible. We should be in the hybrid classes when winter is the worst, so hopefully that will mean that we need to spend less time at school and less time on the roads.

Well, I am glad you are feeling good about it. I forgot momentarily about the hybrid classes in the following semesters. You have a good point with that and the snow. I only saw one person from my prereq. and I had not really talked to her before. When we are thrown in classes/clinicals together, I'm not worried about finding someone to suffer with though :).

I believe I am in the second section on mondays as well, I will check later and let you know. I am going to do my clinicals at Hillcrest. Where were you sitting? I was in the back, near the doors about two or three rows up.

I was sitting right next to the tables where the people were collecting the forms in the beginning. I think you might have been right behind me...I have red curly hair and I was wearing a grey sweater.

were you the one who asked about fitting lunch into our hectic days?! :)

I was about right behind that lady, one seat over, and one row behind. I have dark brown hair, it was in a ponytail and I was wearing a puffy black vest. I asked a few of questions, including one about the math testing, etc..

Yes, I was the one who asked about food. It was a silly question, I know, but in every lab I have taken so far food was not allowed and I wanted to know if I needed to be prepared to sneak in lunch. :)

I remember you...thank you for asking about the math part of the course, I was curious about the same thing.

Yay! Okay, I know who you are now! And thanks for asking about food, b/c it is an imporant question! I am kind of worried about the analytical thinking, not that I'm a great memorizer either. I just hope I can handle the workload. Are you taking psy2020? I signed up for the online one. I have a lot of psych. courses, but it looks like none of them transferred for that, I may look into it more, but registered just in case.

I am not taking Psy 2020...I, thankfully, took it in undergrad. Are you doing the web-based program. Someone on the ADN group message board posted:

IF YOU HAVE TO, TAKE PSY ONLINE WITH DR. LESURE IT THE BEST IT IS A PIECE OF CAKE. BUT YOU HAVE TO REGISTER WITH DR. LESURE, I TOOK BOTH MY PSY ONLINE AND THEY WERE SO EASY I GOT A'S IN BOTH OF THEM N NO TIME

Don't worry about the analytical thinking. Keep in mind that you do it all the time with your kids, especially when they were little before they talked. Think back to the process you went through every time they were sick or cried...this is the same thing, but probably easier because you will be better educatated about the medical part of what is going on and you will have a bit of emotional distance.

I sure hope so! Thanks for the info. Do you know which section he teaches, I def. want to get him.

I have no idea what section he teaches. You can probably go on the ADN message boards and ask the person that posted it...perhaps she will know! You could also look in the catalog online to see if the profs. are posted.
