Well, here I am. I have been watching this board for some time. I am ready to come out of the closet and introduce myself. I have been a practicing Chiropractor for 9.5 years. My heart was always set for an M.D. but a problem with my back when I was 22 led me to this profession. Here I am at 35 y.o. looking to get the accelerated BSN (if possible....maybe the 2 year?) Throw myself into the ICU etc and going for it. Don't get me wrong, I like being a Chiropractor, I do. But we are very limited in what we do and I always wanted the hospital setting. Out of my mind you ask? No. Just realizing that you only have one life to live. Some in my family are having a hard time with the decision but others have been very supportive. I am in the process of having all my transcripts and such sent to the schools around here. You should hear the advisors reaction when I tell them of what I am doing. Honestly, I really do not care what some people will say....even my colleagues. I have a twin sister who is also a Chiropractor who just thinks I am insane for wanting to go back for more schooling. I have a very supportive husband so I am thankful for that! It is not going to be easy......pulling alot of info back from 10 years ago but I have to because this is what I want to do. SO, I guess you can ask the questions....I am sure I will get some! I am just hoping I don't have to sit around and wait to get into the schools. Does the accelerated versions have long wait times as well? Darlene
