Hi everyone,

It's that time of year again! I have applied to Trent University's compressed nursing program for Fall 2016. We can share admissions/GPA information here to help each other out! My cGPA is 76% & the chances seem very slim considering the cut-off of high 70s.

Hi Melinda, I have a question about the compressed nursing program in Trent. How difficult is it to achieve an 80-85 average? is it harder in first or second year?

I've completed 1.5 years of the program and have maintained a CGPA of >80% so far. It's all very subjective. I did well in my first year, but find my grades steadily declining. It seems to be getting more challenging.

What is so subjective about the program? The exams, assignments, essays?

I mean, what may seem hard for one person may be easy for another. Personally, I'm finding it more challenging because there seems to be a transition from multiple choice type exam questions in first year to essay type exam questions in upper years. Also, the nursing theory courses are extremely dry and there is a large focus on relational practice, theories, etc. There is a huge focus on the 'art' of nursing.

Hello everyone,

I am currently a second year student looking into the Trent compressed program for next year, are my chances slim to none in comparison to someone already has a bachelors degree? I have a 3.7 gpa. But because I do not currently have a degree, do they give priority to someone who has a degree or is it given to someone with a higher gpa?

No, many people in the program didn't complete their previous degrees.

My daughter is planning to apply for next year. Any idea what is the cut off?..what is the cut off for this year?..and how many applicants selected for a year?...Any help would be a great help.

Hello Anon,

I'm in the Trent compressed program. I didn't do well in my essay assignments and missed 1. Now I have to score over 80% in my bio 1550. I know I can do it but feeling a bit overwhelmed as course content is so much. Can you help direct me to impt areas to study ? There is so much content. Help pls
