Traveler Friendly Pediatric Assignments

Published

Hi everyone!

I am a traveling peds nurse (med/surg), and I finished my first assignment. I am wondering what hospitals have been very traveler friendly (pay, ratios, use of techs, overall friendliness, etc). Keeping my options open for good assignments. Also, any places to avoid, things ask about, or generally look for when traveling? Thank you!

Bay Area California.....

In General Any place that has been Unionized for a while.....

Fresno area may be an exception, I see quite a few crisis rates and completion bonuses coming from that region. Probably means something is up.....

The Central Valley has had well paying assignments for over 10 years. I'm not sure what the dynamics are, however friends of mine work travel in Fresno, and keep returning (all the hospitals). So I don't think the workplace is bad, but generally it is probably hard to attract any medical personnel to a depressed agricultural area with typical desert weather in the summer. Personally, I have almost zero interest in the Central Valley although I did work in Chico which is the upper end of the valley. I was depressed driving there across hot treeless farmland but Chico was a green oasis of trees in a rather nice university town. I was very pleasantly surprised.
