I agree. Lately it seems as though the places that tend to attract many people pay lower - because they are places people generally want to visit. And other places that are willing to "pay to get people out there" are more lucrative. This doesn't always make sense to the scale of cost of living as well. So yes, with the ebb and flow of traveling, decide how flexible you are to a place you want to visit vs where the money is.

Im thinking about jumping ship on traveling too. I have loved the last year and a half that I have been able to explore the country, But it has become harder to find consistent work year round with decent pay. It is becoming "take what you can get", "feast or famine", and "beggars can't be choosers" almost. I know that it may be because I'm not extremely specialized - Pediatric Med/Surg - but still. I have been submitting dozens of resumes, and it has been like pulling teeth to get a nurse manager to call back. I love traveling, and seeing how different hospitals work, but I'm starting to get to the "its not worth it" stage.

Hi everyone! I am a traveling peds nurse (med/surg), and I finished my first assignment. I am wondering what hospitals have been very traveler friendly (pay, ratios, use of techs, overall friendliness, etc). Keeping my options open for good assignments. Also, any places to avoid, things ask about, or generally look for when traveling? Thank you!
