I am just about to complete my practical nursing program and have two years left if I decide to branch over and become an RN. I am beginning to think that I would like to work for one year as a practical nurse first before continuing my education.
I realize there are many travel and relocation options for RN's. However, I was just wondering what kind of travel opportunities there are for practical nurses (if any) if i decide to work for a year first? I am from Ontario, Canada.
If anyone knows of any good websites, has their own knowledge or advice they could share, that would be great!
Thanks,
Mike

Are you looking at travel opportunities in Canada or overseas? If overseas then you may have issues as not many countries will accept LPN

Medical missions often accept travel nurses, especially those with the OR Tech or Ortho Tech additional training.
If you are looking for paid employment, you are more limited. You have to factor in the cost of practice permits and the local job market.
Australia has Enrolled Nurses and there have been posters over the years who had plans to go there, don't remember hearing back from them though.

Its not finding a place that will accept you... its about getting the visa to legally work...
In the usa LPN is not on the NAFTA so you can't get a visa as an LPN.. Same thing for australia... you can get licensed.. but its getting the ability to work there as being an LPN does not give you enough points for their visa system.. I have looked extensively and now i am doing my RN's through athabasca to be able to have more opportunities.
The one place i am aware of that does LPN travel assignments in Canada is travelnurse.ca
