Travel nursing? When is too soon?

I was offered a travel nursing position from Staffing Medical USA. I only have 8 months experience as an RN and was wondering your thoughts on this? I'm also currently getting my BSN.

I didn't start traveling till I had 8 years experience. Personally, I wouldn't have been ready at 8 months, but I can't speak for everyone. Just be careful your agency doesn't set you up to fail.

The Staffing agency is recruiting you. If a facility then interviews you and puts you to work.. the agency will get 50% of the cost to the facility.

Are you prepared to walk into a new facility , far from home .. and function with 2 days of orientation?

My first job after graduating was a local travel contract in sub-acute rehab. They extended me after the contract was up and then offered me a part time job, which i worked at for 2 years before going PRN (transitioning out of nursing now!) It depends on the job/practice setting, and also on your confidence and personality type. I get bored extremely quickly and learn really fast, so a travel contract was good for me right out of school. You know yourself better than anyone here. :-)
