Do you have a BSN? Have you secured a nursing license from the college of nurses of Ontario? The assessment & credentials evaluation can take up to 2 years
Despite many beliefs to the contrary there is no license endorsement/reciprocity between US & Canada. Canada requires a minimum of a BSN for licensing as an RN
Hello,
I have a BSN and have been working as an RN for 2 years. I've assessed the application processes I must go through to acquire a valid license in TO. Yes, I was told it would take between 3-21 most to verify mostly depending on the ability of my school and nursing board in the states to reply to the verification request. What I'm trying to find is an agency that places in TO from the states.
Thanks!
Toronto has a surplus of nurses and the hospitals do not need travel nurses.
Is that not true for most of the major metropolitan areas of Canada? Id think with the unions and structure of the Canadian healthcare it would be extremely rare for a major city to consider an international travel nurse.
Justbeachy is correct, Canadian travel nursing agencies do not have temporary placements in large or mid size cities, they occasionally have placements in small cities more often the placements are in rural and northern locations. Toronto hospitals still use agency nurses occasionally, but local nursing agencies do not hire nurses who require temporary work permits.

Hello,
I have always found this site helpful both as a nursing student and a new nurse! I'm a US-based Med Surg nurse looking to travel to Toronto, ON. Can anyone suggest travel agencies that place from US to Toronto? Thanks, looking forward to your feedback!
