I just got a job with MedStaff to go to Tripler for the NICU. They pay the best. The only thing is, it is shared housing. If you don't mind having a roomate, do it. Tripler is the only hospital on Oahu that they give you shared housing, because it is an army hospital and everything is done a little different.
You can take a stipend I can't remember the amount. Somewhere in the ballpark range of $1100. Payrate is about 32/hr it jumps up to 34-35ish if you don't take the health insurance that is offered. There is a $1000 travel reimbersment. You get 500 at the start of your contract and 500 at the end. You also get a $1000 completion bonus.
I went with a permanent position at Kapiolani instead. I started about 9 months ago. I think you are looking at the date of this article incorrectly. It was posted a year ago. Are you on assignment at Tripler? You will love Hawaii. If you want in other living tips just email me.
I am looking intl an assingment in Hawaii, do you know anything about Altres? would love to live in Oahu, any suggestions of what hospital you would recommend or where there are needs? Thanks.
I went with Altres and they told me I had a contract with St. Francis Hospital. I got there and it was an agency position. There term travel and the term travel on the main land is definately different. Make sure you are real clear about the terms. I was there for two weeks and I was cancelled every day. Needless to say, I came back home

Does anyone know what travel companies are used by the hospitals in Hawaii? Does anyone have comments about Medstaff? and/or Tripler Hospitals NICU?
