Has anyone transfered their liscense to TN? I have a job lined up and my current liscense is in Ohio. I am wondering how difficult this process is going to be. I want to start my job ASAP and am worried something will get held up at the board.
Thanks!

Did you look at the TN BON ? You will get all the information you need.
yeah I did - it just has a lot of info that is not clear- information about possibly needing more gen ed classes etc. I was just curious if anyone had done it that could help clarify

If you have a RN license already you just need to fill out the paperwork, pay the fees, jump through the hoops, and have your license issued. It's not difficult.

I live in Ohio and am also in the process of obtaining a Tennessee license. It is on the webiste. If you PM me, I'll send you the link. You mail in the application, and you can get a temporary permit (good for 6 months) to work on while they process your permanent one. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for the temporary license. You will need a passport photo and go to the nursys website and pay a $30 fee, so they can verify your Ohio license. You will not need your background check yet. They will mail you info on that later. It's not really clear on the application, but I called to verify it. I think the total cost including the permit fee and the $30 verification fee was $170.
The $170 includes your permanent license too. I did not clarify that in my above post.

I know this is an old posting, but I am wondering if anyone can give me a timeframe on how long it took to transfer an RN license to TN. I have a job waiting for me and they want me to begin July 6, but I'm concerned that I won't have my TN nursing license by then. I had all my paperwork in to the TN BOD by June 1 but then they requested a criminal background check and it took another week before they received my fingerprints and information. On June 8 it said on their website that my application was in process. Is there anyone who has any experience on how long it took you to receive a license number in TN when transferring your RN license?
