Training on Dialysis

I want to attend a training program on dialysis treatments.

Where can I train?

Which one offers the best training?

How much is the program fee?

How long is the training?

I've been looking on the website of National Kidney and Transplant Institute but can't find any info about it. If you can refer training centers and their contact numbers, I would highly appreciate them.

Thank you as always.

Hi! How about to those who didn't have at least 6 months hospital experience? (like me. HAHA!) Aren't we even qualified to take the Hemodialysis Training at NKTI or Nephro Training center? :(

RENAP requires only 1 month of dialysis training at the least.

The training institution (NKTI, FMC, Nephro, etc) requirements varies. Some would require 6 mos. hospital experience first, some would not. But the trend goes into most (and soon maybe all) requiring some hospital experience.

The training, no problem. Some are accepting nurses to train for dialysis even without prior hospital experience. The hard part would be the CRN license. Better inquire regarding those.

And... so far only NephroGroup is open for training this coming June. However, only 8 slots are left. Some centers will have their training on August 2012 or so (because the earlier dates were fully booked).

Oh well, better grab the first opportunity for training.

The situation at present is different from when I was also scouting for training and volunteer experience years ago. I'm so thankful I was given a shot by Nephrogroup. Without them I might still be standing on shaky ground as far as our profession is concerned.

Ah... how I wish I could bargain with the price though. I still haven't enrolled myself since the sched will become a conflict to some of my interviews @__@

Can I have 3 months clinical experience in any hospital after my 3 months HD training at nephro to complete the 6 months clinical experience required by RENAP to take the accreditation exam or still I need a separate 6 months clinical experience after my 3 months training in dialysis to become eligible in taking the exam of RENAP. I don't have any clinical experience prior to my HD training this June that's why I am so very confused with the requirements.

It would be better if you would call RENAP regarding that matter. But as far as I know, it could be prior or after the HD training. But then again, try calling them to verify.

By the way, have you enrolled yourself already at NephroGroup or still thinking about it?

Hi, does anyone know when will be the next RENAP certification exam? I'm planning to take the exam as soon as possible after my HD training.

Edit: Nevermind, just found out exams are scheduled every last sunday of the month.

Good luck on your upcoming exam.

Not that I'm scaring you, but I heard the exam just gets harder and harder.

All the best!

hi there!

Can i ask how can I have reservation on nephro's orientation

hi NelRN. I just had an orientation in Nephro mandaluyong last wed. Just email them at [email protected] and leave your name and when are you going to attend their orientation. And also bring a copy of your resume.

Have you inquire some other dialysis training centers other than nephro?
