Traffic tickets and BVNPT Application process

Published

Hi all! My first post ever so be kind lol.

Ok so heres my problem(s)... I just finished my LVN nursing program April 18th 2014 (What a relief LOL :D) BUT i did have to fill out a convictions form due to past traffic violations which had exceeded $300.00. In the state of California any offense over $300.00 needs to be reported. So since I had to fill this out, I also went to the court house to get a certified document to prove that I have paid all citations, and all cases in traffic court are closed. Also sent a DMV printout for good measure. Fast forward to May 22, 2014 received a letter from the board that stated that they have received my application, and record of conviction, BUT i "forgot to answer number 9". Number 9 on this form is a simple yes or no question, "Have you ever been licensed in another state", which was NO. It is so weird because this was checked, double checked, a millionth checked since January 2014 before being mailed out April 21st by the school. Ok, so i had to resend a record of conviction, CHECKED NUMBER 9, and I resent all my DMV printout and court certification again. I also called to make sure thats was all needed to resend. My queston is, I know that the board is severely understaffed, but just how long to get my ATT letter? Other classmates received theirs, but since I do have tickets, and then this set back I know it will take longer for me. Has anyone dealt with the board lately with a similar problem? Any feedback is greatly appreciated :nailbiting:

Since the California BVNPT is slow as heck, understaffed, and still handles business by way of snail mail, you can expect to wait a couple more months before you are finally granted an ATT letter. Your previous traffic citations are going to severely slow the process down. Good luck to you.

Ok for who ever reads this I will keep it up to date. So I received the letter that a question was not filled out and that I needed to resubmit the paperwork on May 22,2014. I called the board that same day and got a response :D the gentleman I spoke with told me that as of May 22 they were opening mail from May 7th. So not to far behind! He did say that my past traffic tickets will delay the process but that the ATT letter shouldn't be delayed much, it's more once you passed and I will have a delay to actually receive my license. Anyhow I also sent an email to the BVNPT worker who sent me the letter. I thought there is no way she will get to this email, but I should send it anyways. I got a response the very next morning! Talk about surprised lol! She said that once received I should revive my ATT in a week so I'm hoping all in all 3 weeks from today. I also sent in the re submitted paperwork as a certified letter so I would know when it got there. I plan to follow up next week with a call and in two weeks as well. I have hope! I will keep this post up to date :)

Any update? I'm anxiously waiting for my att for nclex-RN

Hi all!!! Ok so I received my ATT June 9th!!!!!!! They received my paper on May 27th soooo that was super fast!!!!!!!!!! Now I need to study lol scheduled my NCLEX for July 30th!!!!

Hello anyone who reads this :) I received my ATT early June, took my NCLEX July 30th... Did the "Pearson Vue Trick" with the "good pop up" that same day.... Got my offical PASSED letter about three and a half weeks after I took it! Then since I had passed tickets I had to wait for clearence :/ BUT THAT ONLY TOOK A WEEK! Then I sent in my money for my license! 3 1/2 weeks later my name is posted on the boards website (woop woop!) this was in Oct 1st, and now I wait for my actual license in the mail which I read can take around two weeks! Geez such patience we learn to have from all this!!!! LOL

Passed my NCLEX! Got the letter Aug 18th!!! Background check (from prior traffic tickets) cleared in a week and then I was able to mail out my money! It took about 3 weeks for my name to pop up on the board website (Oct 1st) and now I wait for my hard copy license to be mailed, which u heard is around 2 weeks :D

Yay for you! That's great! I'm in a very similar situation I took my boards 2/16 got my official pass letter today 3/13 but it states there will be a delay in my license due to a passed traffic conviction of $350! Hoping my wait doesn't take "several" weeks like they claim :(
