Towson nursing admission fall'14

U.S.A. Maryland

I applied for Towson's fall 2014 nursing program. i have a 3.8 cummulative GPA and had 78 in my teas. I'v never been this nervous ever. pls i heard that its very competitive and i dont even know if i have a change with such a low teas score. Is there someone here who is or has been in my current state of mind?

yeah, I was aware that hagerstown was less competitive, but I live so close to the main campus and really didn't want to relocate/commute all the way to hagerstown. I keep hoping to hear from some current students about how things are in the Towson program, but I haven't made the right connections yet, I guess. Getting a BSN from towson would cost me less than the CNL program at UMB, but my boyfriend and I both feel that the MSN might be the better choice for me. I hear nothing but good things about UMB- so it'd be really nice to hear what people think of TU. Might help solidify my decision one way or another.

concerning Hagerstown, the issue of relocating is the problem!

Yeah! does anyone know what the housing situation is like there?

A lot of the students room with fellow students in the class. A few mass emailed the class a few months before classes started. There isn't any dedicated housing for students but there's apts in the area. Some of the locals rent out rooms too \:

You could always see if any of the students live in Hagerstown and ask if you could stay with them during the week. My class has two that commute from the Baltimore area every day for class. Not ideal but it works for them. One of them usually will stay with a classmate if they have to be somewhere really early in the morning like for clinical.

TU Nursing alum (class of Spring 2009) chiming in! FYI, they were on spring break last week so that's probably why nothing went out last week. I don't think I got my admission letter until April, honestly. I liked the program though, and some of the instructors are really great. I'm finishing my MSN in Nursing Ed at Towson right now, hoping to finish in Spring 2015. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

ok pinkie, we should probably be expecting to hear from them this week or next!

I got in!!!!!!! Got my letter today!!!!!! Deposit is due mid April!!!

i was waitlisted, am nt sure how i feel right nw, but am happy i have a backup plan!

does any1 know how the waitlisting goes, how do they pull people out of the list?

I just got home from a 12-hour shift to find a big envelope from Towson. I got in to Hagerstown!! :) It's funny because I have been trying to contact their office to find out when we would get decisions but no one picked up. I guess it was their way of telling me my letter was in the mail! I'm gonna wait til I hear from one more school before I start panicking about the lack of housing. I'm in DC so commuting is NOT an option!

good for you two, Congrats :)

I was wait listed for the main campus program for about 2 weeks. Some others in my class had initially been wait listed too. I'm not sure how long the list is or the process for getting off of it though.
