To all the ER Nurses out there, what are the top 10 ER visits? 1 being the most frequent and 10 being the least.

1. cold symptoms---and I need a note for days off from work

2. Abd pain, most commonly constipation----and I need a work excuse

3. Lacerations, including papercuts===I need a note for work excuse

4. Toohaches , migraines, back pain----I need a note for work excuse

5.UTI/Pyelo/kidneystones-----and I need a note for a work excuse

6 chest pain----and I need a note for work excuse

7. sob,pneumonia,asthma,etc----and I need a note for work excuse

8. Fall injuries----and I need a work excuse

9. True Traumas, MVC,MCC,GSW,Stabs etc. I dont need a work excuse just keep me alive

10 Psych emergencies of all types----I need a work excuse

What's up with the vag bleeding??? During pregnancy or just getting a period and thought they'd let you know :rotfl: :rotfl:

I noticed that too and wondered the same thing. Probably from pregnancy (most women freak out when they bleed in pregnancy - most of the time it's just a teeny weeny spot, but worth a trip to the ED!), a gusher during pregnancy I can certainly understand a trip to the ED but just plain old vag bleeding. Note to some "vag bleeders": spotting happens. Get over it.

I love writing work and school notes

the ones who want them the most are the ones who really need to work and or should really be in school anyway.

5. stupid human tricks (sprains, strains, lacerations, abrasions, contusions and hematomas) I didn't know that I couldn't do that, I forgot I couldn't walk, my brother suggested it, I don't know what happened, I was fixing the light switch and next thing I was on the floor. etc..etc..etc

6. Cardiac arrest

7. Motor Vehicle accidents, multiple traumas

8. Old person fell

9. Can't breath

What's up with the vag bleeding??? During pregnancy or just getting a period and thought they'd let you know :rotfl: :rotfl:

Some of them do come in with period-related complaints - bleeding too long, bleeding too little, bleeding more than usual, menstrual cramps, etc. ;)

The ones who are preg are sometimes miscarrying and think it can be saved (which is always sad,) sometimes it's an ectopic preg, sometimes it's just bleeding.

Always funny when the cc is vag bleeding, get in the pelvic room, and...no bleeding. :p
