  1. In Anesthesiology could you prepare the night before the cases that you've to do in the morning? I mean could you run through the scenrio in your head? Would you know the type of cases that you would be doing for the next day? Could you run through the complications that would come up and be prepared?
  2. How much of your time is spend in medication management and how much do you spend in doing therapy?
  3. Ofcourse.....no two cases are the exact same.........but in which speciality is it similar? Where you can say hmmmmmmmmmmm...........I did this before......this looks similar? And which nursing speciality is worst at that?
  4. In which nursing speciality do you feel that once you're trained and spent a little bit of time in the field you know what to do exactly? The thing with me is that I want to learn a speciality and want to become an expert in it and know how to do my job. I don't want to keep asking for help. (Help may not be availabe since it's usually short staffed). I guess what I am really trying to ask is in which specialty that you worked on took the least amount of time to learn and be an expert? I mean, you can do the job in your sleep........ The reason I ask this is because I don't want to be constantly bombarded with new things and have to keep asking for help.   6. I have a question regarding how does a psych career affect the psych nurses. I mean, since this is all pretty much mental, does it affect psych nurses? Let me know your thoughts........please only comments from people that have actually done or are doing a psych nursing....

  8. Could someone please explain to me why the nurses are complaining that they're not being pad well. In case my math is wrong this is the figure that I come up with. 3 day/12 hour shift at average $28/hr in New York 12 hours *$28=$336 per day*3 days $1008 per week* 52 Weeks that's $52,416 per year......that's just the average in New York. If you do 4 days you pull in almost $70,000. So, what the all the complaining about not getting paid? I just don't understand. Am I missing something? Aaron PS: I didn't even include any sign on bonus or night differential pay.

  14. Are ER nurses prone to getting sick more often than other specialities? The reason I ask this is because let's say someone comes with something contagious and they're coughing all over you..........in other specialities like ortho, nephro, neuro...it doesn't happen that often..... Let me know if ER nurses prone to getting sick more than other specialities? And how do you protect yourself?
