Took NCLEX-RN Exam today (YIKES!!!)

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Wow, I took my NCLEX-RN exam this morning and boy was it hard! It seemed like every 4th or 5th question was "Select All That Apply" and I really suck at those. The good thing is that I only had the minimum amount of questions (75) and from what I hear that means I either really bombed it or passed. I hope I passed! I won't know until 48 business hours have passed but I'll keep you updated.

Have you taken it? How many questions did you do? Pass or fail? How did you prepare for it? I read the Kaplan strategy book, did practice questions from both Kaplan and Saunders books & CDs, and reviewed lab values. Hopefully it paid off! Wish me luck and I also wish you the best if you haven't taken it yet!:yeah:

Yeah that's high I felt. My anxiety decreased somewhat, but until I saw that I passed it didn't go away...heehee :yeah:

How fast can you try to pearson trick after taking your boards that it would work? Or how fast did you guys try it and it showed that message?

Congratulations to everyone!!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous! I have one more semester to take and I will also be a nurse! Please, tell me how you prepared for NCLEX? How long? How many hours or questions a day? What would you recommend to do before the exam? Thanks

I took it 3 & 1/2 weeks after graduation so the stuff was still fresh in my mind. Started studing when I got my ATT and took it 2 days later and passed with 75 questions. Used the CDs from both Saunders and Kaplan to do practice questions and on Kaplan website. That really helped me out a lot. Good luck!

I am taking my test on the 31rst, and I am so nervous!!! Should i focus on meds? Labs? Any advice is great!

Definately know your labs. Work on your critical thinking skills, get a book on that. I had a lot of prioritizing patients (who would you go see first), delegating tasks, isolation, and only a few meds and 1 math question. Got a lot of SATA (select all that apply).

Sounds just like my exam! Don't trip, you passed. Promise...but let me know!!! LOL:redbeathe

Good Luck!

I took my exam today. Looking back theres some questions I should have answered differently. It shut off at 75. I had 5 or so Select alls and 5 or so medication questions. A few that asked what med would u questions the doc on. Hellloooo I have not heard of a lot of these meds! I had no dosage calc and no peds. I focused a lot on peds the last few weeks too. Number 75 was probably one of the most bizarre questions I have ever been asked. I have no idea if I got it right or not. Its not something I can look up.

I did Kaplan (class) and around 2,000 questions. Kaplan is a lot like the NCLEX!

I tried the "trick" and did not get the CC screen.

So we shall see!
