Took NCLEX-RN Exam today (YIKES!!!)

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Wow, I took my NCLEX-RN exam this morning and boy was it hard! It seemed like every 4th or 5th question was "Select All That Apply" and I really suck at those. The good thing is that I only had the minimum amount of questions (75) and from what I hear that means I either really bombed it or passed. I hope I passed! I won't know until 48 business hours have passed but I'll keep you updated.

Have you taken it? How many questions did you do? Pass or fail? How did you prepare for it? I read the Kaplan strategy book, did practice questions from both Kaplan and Saunders books & CDs, and reviewed lab values. Hopefully it paid off! Wish me luck and I also wish you the best if you haven't taken it yet!:yeah:

i took my nclex rn yesterday and i am sooo angry! it was so hard! i feel like i failed! i think is was way harder than the hesi or my study questions or exams in school! i can't believe it! i even was able to pick apart questions that i know i missed now (like four). i had plenty of sata, priority, meds, one number in order, no dosage. don't know how many sata, but it was more than ten. i feel sick! most of the questions were meds, priority patients, sata, some diseases i have never heard of! i think the test was the worst one i have ever taken. my last ten questions were not sata, so i'm worried that that means i failed.

We ALL feel like that coming out of the test. Take a deep breath. I agree with you. It was so much harder than what we were prepared for. Are you going to do the "Pearson Trick"? Good luck to you!

can you talk me through the pearson trick? is it pretty accurate?

It is extremely accurate. Go sign into your account and be sure it says "Delivery Successful" in the bottom right corner. Then go to "Register" and try and register as if you never took the test. If after you enter your school you get a "Contact your board of nursing" message (the message is longer)...then you passed. If it lets you continue through to the payment screen where it lets you enter a credit card or money order then you did not pass (according to those who have replied on this site). Let me know how it goes if you want! and good luck!

Can someone please tell me what SATA stands for? LOL

Thanks,

Vicky

SATA = Select All That Apply

Oh duh! Thanks very much! I just took the NCLEX last Friday and found out I passed on Tuesday. I had about 7 or 8 SATAs. I hate those! ; )

so, where it asks if you've ever taken the test before, you put no?

ok, i hope someone reads this soon. i went to the pearsonvue site and registered under my account like i had never registered before. on the review page after i filled out my school info, i received a message directly afterwards that said "our records indicate that you recently scheduled this exam. please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time". is that good or bad? is it still too soon? is it possible they don't have my results yet and that's why i'm getting this message??

Yes, that is the message everyone who passed got! Your anxiety can decrease a little at least! Congrats :-) What state are you in?

you know, i'm trying to relax because of it, but i'm still in and out of anxiety (moderate, lol). i guess i need to see "pass", but i do feel a bit better! i'm in missouri : )
