took nclex this morning. need to vent!

Hello everyone.

i didn't tell anyone i when i was taking it and i just need to let all my feelings out!

i took kaplan and from my score on the "readiness test" i was told i had about a 96% chance of passing the nclex. how true is that? i felt that the nclex was harder than kaplan--my friends said it was easier!-- and had questions that kaplan did not cover (in Qbank & trainers ..i didnt really look at the book). i had medications i've never heard of. when i was sure i got an answer right, i had a SATA next ..which weren't many. no math. my computer shut off at 150+ (at that point i stopped checking what number i was on) and i THINK i got my last question right.

i know that doesnt mean anything but whats really freaking me out is that im NOT freaking out. usually after a test i think i failed, i would be crying my eyes out ..and i would pass. and vice versa. im surprisingly calm ..except for my heart beating out of my chest. i dont know what to think.

anyway, i was told to start checking for my results tomorrow night. do they really post that early? i thought it was at least 2 days.

I too had the same experience except mine cut off at 77 and I was like freaked out. I wanted it to keep going even all the way to 265. I was thinking well the CAT either thinks I am really smart or really dumb. I really don't get the whole CAT thing. I also took Kaplan, did the entire online class all the content videos, all the review of questions, diagnostic exam and readiness exam making 81% on both, all the Qbank questions, all the QTrainers and making above 65%. I basically wasted $400. I had questions and diseases on that test that left me completely dumbfounded and that stupid Kaplan Decision Tree did not apply to one question. Even in the online course it wouldn't apply to all the questions. They say look at the stem for assessment and if you can't find any assessment, then implement. On some questions there were no assessments in the stem and when I chose assessment, i would get it wrong and the decision tree caused me to mess up more on questions. Not happy with Kaplan at all.:o

tolerantgirl ..i know exactly how you feel! i felt like i knew NOTHING. not too thrilled with kaplan either.
