Took the mid-curricular HESI tonight.....

Took the test while in 2 year did'nt pass it too. But I fool them all I pass the NCLEX. So take heart some test are no any indicater of how you will do. These test are sold to the schools with the ideal that they know what will be on the NCLEX. Not a clue. The NCLEX ia billion dollar business, and the only one that matters. Oh amd so do your school test. I'm an RN working in a med surg in a small rual hospital. Just remember get through school first, work on studing for the NCLEX. Dont stress out. The more stress the more the less you remember.

I didn't pass it either. I get to take it again in 2 weeks. If i don't pass it then, I can't graduate and will have to repeat 4th semester. I'm freaking out.

I needed to get an 850 to graduate, but I got an 818. I'm so scared I'm not going to make it. I found that there were 3 good answers most of the time, which made it so hard for me to narrow it down. To make it worse, I *heard* that those of us who have to take it again will be faced with an even harder test than the 1st one. Whether or not that is true....I don't know. I just wish I hadn't heard it.

You don't sound stupid..I to am curious, what is the HESI?

It's like the NCELX but it's not close. The HESI is more like a general knowleage test, but is suppose to get harder as you go like the NCLEX does.

There is another test but name eludes me right now.

These test are to find out what you know, but the schools don't use them like they should. They should be use to find the holes in curicum. State boards will not be these questions. They tell the schools that if the student passes the test the'll pass boards. We had students who passed the HESI but failed boards.

What I don't understand is how they can pass or fail someone on this test. Is this part of your core curicum?? And if it is then there should of been a list of topics from this test to study for it. Our school use these test to tell where to study for the boards. That is just crule. There was so much that we never went through in class that was on that test.

Take time to study for it. Get a review book and go through the outlines in it. Rule out answers all of it has to be true or false, read the question then figure out what is asking. Take you time pace your self. After 30 questions get up a move around. Eat a high carb meal, brain food.
