Tomorrow is the day!!!

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Two and a half years of waiting to begin ends tomorrow. I am absolutely excited and scared that I am beginning Nursing school tomorrow! I am overwhelmed with what I have learned in the just the past week while I have been doing my required reading and attending a study skills class. I attended a welcome reception on Monday and I felt like a five year old on Christmas day. "I can't believe I am here" Is all I kept repeating in my head. I was embarrassed because I welled up with tears numerous times while the second semester students were encouraging us and informing us. I looked around to my fellow classmates and was engulfed with emotion as I realized we are all here for the same purpose but maybe not the same reason. I do not know how many of you have wanted to be a nurse since they were a small child but that is me! My life dream is coming to pass and I thought it never would.

Anyways, I just wanted to check in and say "Hey!" I am off to read more and pack my bookbag. Oh yeah, and my children are in desperate need of clean clothes so today is laundry day!!! He he, it never ends.....

I start my last semester of my ADN program tomorrow and I am so excited. I can't believe I will be a nurse in 6 months. The time has gone by fast and it seems like I was just preparing for my first day of first semester. Yes, it can be rough at times, but it is exciting and uplifting also, especially if nursing is what you want to do!

I am so excited too!!! I know how you feel with the emotions. I worked hard to get where I am know and I am finally going to nursing school. I always known I wanted to be a nurse but was in business for the last ten years, that is my first degree. This time around college I will be doing something I like and enjoy.

I am really nervous. I know I will not be able to sleep tonight! I feel like I am little again on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa and the presents in the morning, hee-hee.

Good luck to you and lets talk about our first week experiences on the site, especially clinical!!!
