As I am sure that many of you do, our program has a graduation for just nursing students and then another with cap and gown. Should I do both or is the cap and gown a waste of time? Would love input! Thanks!
Our school has a pinning and graduation ceremony for the RN and LPN programs seperate from the rest of the graduation ceremonies. We are not included in the other ceremony, although I wish we at least had the option :)
Anyway, I've experienced that ceremony as I already have my AS in Biology from the same school
I do have to agree, if you can do it, go for it! It's a major accomplishment to get any college degree, and I personally think, it's an even bigger accomplishment to get a nursing degree!

I only planned on doing pinning. I am doing an associates program. Plan to bridge to BSN and maybe MSN. So didn't want to have 3 cap and gown ceremonies to walk in. Plus that part isn't a big deal to me. But apparently my parents disagree and my step mom told me my dad would be hurt if didn't do the cap and gown. I was the one of my siblings least likely to go on to college, shoot I wasn't expected to graduate high school. Now I will be the first one to graduate college. My sister made it to her senior year at a state college on a full ride scholarship and got into trouble and never finished. My brother joined the marines and started college but never went far. So anyway, I guess it's big deal to him. For HS I graduated at Alternative and had the choice to walk with the connected HS as well with cap and gowns but I didn't want to and wanted to just do the Alternative ceremony, I was also asked to talk at that one.
My mom said if I go on to have 2 more graduations they will go to those ones too but since it means so much to them. I will go ahead and do the cap and gown also. I just hope some of my friends are doing it too. lol
