  1. Absolutely!! I took classes part time so it took a long time, but I wouldn't change a thing. My kids saw me work hard and achieve my goals. They now see the benefit of that hard work. Go for it!!

I graduated in March. There are pros and cons to all the programs in central Ohio but over all it worked for me. I cannot recommend getting a job in a hospital, ANY job, strongly enough. It is the key to getting a job after graduation. I worked patient transport and got hired the week after graduation. Good luck to you!!
  3. So I had an interview and was asked to shadow. I scheduled it for Wednesday thinking I wouldn't be able to do it on Monday or Tuesday. I actually can do it those days and am wondering if it would be okay to call and see if I could go earlier than I had scheduled or if that would be bad to do?
  4. As I am sure that many of you do, our program has a graduation for just nursing students and then another with cap and gown. Should I do both or is the cap and gown a waste of time? Would love input! Thanks!
  5. Don't give up!!
  6. Hi! I am the president of our Student Nursing Organization and we are trying to start a peer mentoring program. If you have any information that you could share or point me to I would love it! Do you know of any programs that are really good that we should contact or look at? Thanks for any help! You can PM me if you would like.
  7. Can any of you that support Obama's takeover of the health care sector tell me how exactly you lower our deficits by adding millions to a government entitlement program? Or how you lower costs while still providing excellent care? Have you ever heard of anyone in this country being denied care due to lack of insurance? We have the best healthcare in the world for a reason. Yes, there are things that can be changed, but we shouldn't ruin it all together. One way to lower costs is to get government out of it. The sub-prime mortgage mess is an excellent example of how the government creates more problems than it solves. Also, take a look at the VA, Medicare, medicaid and the IHS to see what government run health care is all about. It stinks!
  8. There are website that you can use to post a job that details your specific needs. Sitters who have signed up for the service can view your ad and decide if they would like to apply for the job. I have used it and it is great! There are several out there. Sittercity.com and care.com are two that I know of. Some even have background checks already done on their profile. Good luck!
  9. I am a nursing student and am interested in being a part of any conservative organizations that you find. Please let me know if you do find any! Can you also let me know what ones are the worst at supporting liberal agendas? I want to make sure I do not join any of them. Thanks!
  10. Sorry for taking so long to respond to your posts. I did not get notification for some reason. For those that said they are in Columubus... is it hard to get clinicals in Columbus? Are there many from here that you could carpool?
  11. I mainly am thinking about going there because I did not get into OSU and I do not want to wait another year to apply and make it 4 more years until I graduate. I would go to Columbus State, but there waiting list is way too long. COTC accepts people every quarter and I could be done in 7 quarters. Thanks for the input!
  12. I was wondering if anyone has attended COTC while living in Columbus? What did you think of the program and the drive? Thanks!
  13. Sorry to hear you were denied. I also found out by checking my status online. I didn't even get my letter yet. I have a 3.8, have three kids, work at a PCA and wrote what I felt to be excellent essays. Who knows what the heck they want. I can go in to find out why, but I am not sure that it is worth it. Good luck on the other schools! I am going to try another. Hopefully it will be the one.

I was wondering if anyone is in the program at COTC and what they think of it. I just found out that I did not get in to OSU, with a 3.8 I might add, and thought they might be a good option instead of waiting another year to apply to OSU or Otterbein. I am 31 and don't feel like waiting around any more. Thanks for any advice!
