To all who took or going to take NCLEX - Rn ..

Published

Helo everyone! I just want to ask you guys for those who already took Nclex rn , what did you use for your preparation on the exam? And for those who's gonna take it soon.. Good luck to us! Im gonna take mine this december.. Im using, Saunders Comprehensive Review 5th ed., Lacharity PDA 2nd edition, Saunders CD Q and A. . Dont know what else to get. Help please :(

I used Exam Cram for content, but did not like their q&as cd. I preferred the Saunders cd and the Davis question book. I also read LaCharity. I found tat the Davis questions were hardest for me, but they were good for rationale.

I really liked the Mosby Comprehensive NCLEX review book/CD in addition to NCLEX 4000 and Saunders. Swap with your friends or check your local library for other resources. My school had us do 2000 questions with a passing grade of 65% or better over the course of our program. Then I did another 2000 between graduating and taking the NCLEX. The school had 100% pass rate and my test shut off after 75 questions.

BTW, it makes really good sense to practice with 265 questions in a few sittings. That way, if you get stuck with the maximum, you are prepared for it and won't feel like the test goes on forever.

Do you have access to ATI? Lots of practice questions/content review...also did the Saunders flashcards because towards the end of my studying I felt computer overloaded and just wanted a different way to look at material. Any books by Mary Ann Hogan are also great because it highlights key points that the NCLEX sometimes focuses on. Good luck!!

Hi Kara! I dont have ATI access :( I will find books by Mary Ann Hogan.. Thank You :)

I used the Saunders CD that came with the book. I did over 1000 questions. My best advice is to review the test taking techniques in the book thoroughly. These will help you answer questions even if you don't know the specific drug, disorder, ect.Best of luck to you!

Thanks Zack1a!! I also use that CD :)

i had acces to ATI, i used NCSBN and i did kaplan a few times but didnt care for it. i also used lacahrity one in a while. but majority of my studying came from ATI, NCSBN and there was a note online that i read the day before and the day of the exam. helped me a lot. Good luck

Thanks Roseonye :)
